Playing a musical instrument is a great hobby. I started playing the piano when I was five years old and still enjoy it now. It is a perfect way to relax and can ______ when I’m feeling down. Different colors have different meanings.

Red is a hot and strong color. It can make the heart beat faster. It is also the color of love. Red clothes can make people look heavier. And red things can get noticed. Americans often use it to express heat. They may say they are red hot about something unfair. When they are red hot, they are very angry about something.

The color of the sky and the ocean, blue, is one of the most popular colors. It is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and make people feel sad.

Green means nature. It’s natural for trees and grass. It is the most comfortable color on the eyes and can improve vision (视觉). It is a calming color. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients there.

Yellow is the most difficult color for the eyes to take in. Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color like red. On the one hand, it is the color of happiness and joy. On the other hand, it means fear and dishonest behavior.

How are people supposed to greet each other when they meet for the first time? Shake hands, give a hug or bow? Let’s try to learn more about the greeting ways.

	This usually takes place in some European and American countries such as Russia, Brazil and Greece.	Friends or family members are supposed to hug each other when they meet. When doing it, people are used to patting (轻拍) each other on the back.

There were many mysteries about the UFO. One of the most detailed (详细的) descriptions of a UFO was given by a nine year-old girl in July 1976. Her name is Gaynor Sunderland.     56     One day on her way home from school, she saw a silver object looking like a saucer (茶碟) in a field not far from her home.

The strange craft (飞行物) was about 30 feet long and 9 feet high. It had yellow window along the side.     57     Although Gaynor was very afraid, she did not run away. Instead, she lay quietly in the long grass and watched the door of the strange craft open. She saw two people wearing silver suits come out of the craft.     58     They used the equipment to check the ground. They were short and had large pink eyes. After about half an hour, the two people went back into the craft.     59    

Although Gaynor told her mother what she had seen, her family decided to keep quiet about it. They did not want people to laugh at their daughter.     60     They hypnotized (使……进入睡眠状态) Gaynor so that they could be sure she was telling the truth. She told the whole story! She was also able to draw a picture of what she had seen!

As a teacher, you need to create rules for your classroom. But how can you make your students want to follow the rules? Give them a hand in creating those rules! Here’s how to do it. Start with a list of what you consider the main points, and then, through thoughtful discussion, work with your students to create a set of rules expressed in their language. Use this list as a starting point.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Respect other people and their things.

Laugh with anyone, but laugh at no one.

Come to class and hand in homework on time.

Most teachers agree that it’s best to choose only a few rules-those leading to successful learning and a great environment. It’s too hard to remember a long list! Make clear and specific rules. Then decide with your students’ help what the punishment will be for breaking those rules.

Teach the rules as you would have a common lesson. It should be your first lesson. Discuss each rule, explain the idea behind it, and ask for examples of how it could be broken.Tell your students that rules help make everyone’s time in school more enjoyable, and use examples to explain this. The rules can also be posted as a reminder(提醒) and each student is advised to take a copy of the rules home.
