There are many interesting stories in the paper. They also use pictures and numbers to convince readers that the stories are true. Teens has lots of news stories on the news page and front page. When you read stories, you hear about the facts; not the writers’ ideas. 

Opinion (观点) writing: Opinion writing is usually about something happening right now. But it isn’t just facts. Here writers add in their own opinions. Writers choose only the _________ that help back up (支持) their ideas.

Advertisement: You need to _________ for this type! Those sweet words and lovely pictures are just ways to get you interested in their products (产品)! People have to pay to put advertisements in newspapers.

Whenever the house gets quiet, Mrs. Smith knows just where to find her 6-year-old daughter Maria: lost in the world of stories.

“I like to read every time of the day,” said Maria, a student at Creel Elementary School in Australia.

Maria’s headmaster, Mrs. White, wants e    56     of her 850 students and their families to learn the love of reading this year. She wants reading at home to become an activity of choice in every family, even during holiday breaks. “I truly realize reading should be an important part of everyone’s life, and n    57     should stop it.” said Mrs. White.

“The aim we want most of all is to help children understand they can enjoy reading, as well as p    58     their skills,” said Hannas, an education researcher. He suggested parents take their children to the library and allow them to pick out books that i    59     them.

Each night, students take home two books to read with their parents or other family members. They have to r    60     the books the next day with a signed note from their parents showing that the books were read, and have passing tests that check how well they understand the books.

“We’re trying to get parents into the h    61     of reading with their kids.” said the headmaster. “Nothing is better than sitting on a sofa with your child and reading and laughing.”

“I think reading opens all the doors and creates imaginations in children,” she said, “I think if you read well, you can succeed in anything in life.”

A nine-year-old boy with a keen eye for both fashion and business is taking the bakery world by storm. Cory Nieves, from New Jersey, who uses the business name “Mr Cory”, not only wears tailored suits and silk ties from trendy grown-up stores, but he’s also the CEO of his very own cookie company called Mr Cory’s Cookies.

On his Website, which has 3,000 fans, Cory shows his perfect fashion sense. In one photo, he stands in front of his cookie stand in white shorts, a dark jacket, wearing fashionable glasses and a stack of bracelets to look more attractive.

Cory wrote on his website that he first came up with the idea to start a business when he and his mother moved to New Jersey from New York City in 2009, and he decided they needed a car.

He initially began selling hot cocoa in front of his home, eventually expanding into the cookie business. Not only has he developed a fan base for his scrumptious desserts, but he has also won over followers who admire his impressive fashion sense.

In the comment section on his page, fans have expressed their love, with one person writing, “This boy is really smart.”

The venture may have begun as a way to buy his mom a car, but Cory says he now has even higher hopes.

“I’m going to do it to raise money for college and for learning how to run a business,” he told NorthJersey.com.
