After camping, it’s time to go home. There’s one good road that everyone uses. But I heard of another road which goes past the Bonda Mission.

When I ask the campsite owner, he says, “Forget that road. Look at your tired children!” I say to my husband, “Let’s try it.”

My husband grew up in Zimbabwe. He knows cows may run onto roads suddenly, and cars may break down far away with no cellphone signal (信号). So he has worries. But he turns right at the Bonda Mission sign. The road is narrow (狭窄的). It rises and falls. Cows and goats walk by the sides of the road…

Thirteen years ago, I thought I’d live and work in France forever. But I met my husband. Then my life changed. Sometimes I wonder what my life might be like if I’d stayed there. And then I remember what Africa has given me: experiences I could never have dreamed of, and friends whose love goes beyond the cultural differences. These enrich my life and make it so colorful. Thanks to a different way.

When we talk, we use words and body language.     17     It lets people know our feelings.

Emojis help with this. For example, you send a text.     18     Then you add an emoji. Emojis are like your body language. They help you show your emotion (情绪).

    19     One rule says an emoji must look like the thing it stands for. A smiling face means happiness. A heart means love. Can you make an emoji for “memory”? No.     20     Not every idea can be shown with a picture. Emojis cannot express everything.
