When I was young, after church on Sundays, we would always have a delicious Italian dinner at my grandmother's house. My grandmother's slow-cooked sauce(酱) was the key. We would all eat, talk and laugh until our stomachs were full. After Mum and grandmother passed away, my dad would still make the sauce from time to time and invite me and my brother over to his little house for a dinner full of fine food and happy memories.
When my dad died, he passed the family recipe(食谱) on to me and my daughter. We often made the sauce for dinner, but for some reason it never tasted quite right. At first, I thought we had gotten the recipe wrong, but one day I realized what was missing. On that day, right before dinner, I closed my eyes and imagined my dad, mum and grandmother all sitting at the table around me. Then I placed the pasta on my fork and slowly put it in my mouth. It tasted perfect. From that moment, I realized the secret was, of course, what it had always been: Love!

“I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow five children to visit my factory this year. These lucky five will be shown around personally by me, and they will be allowed to see all the secrets and the magic of my factory. Then, at the end of the tour, as a special present, all of them will be given enough chocolates and sweets to last them for the rest of their lives! So watch out for the Golden Tickets! Five Golden Tickets have been printed on golden paper, and these five Golden Tickets have been hidden underneath the ordinary wrapping paper of five ordinary bars of chocolate. Good luck to you all, and happy hunting!” (Signed Willy Wonka.)
“The man’s crazy!” muttered Grandma Josephine.
“He’s brilliant (才华横溢)!” cried Grandpa Joe. “He’s a magician! Just imagine what will happen now! The whole world will be searching for those Golden Tickets! Everyone will be buying Wonka’s chocolate bars in the hope of finding one! He’ll sell more than ever before! Oh, how exciting it would be to find one!”
“And all the chocolate and sweets that you could eat for the rest of your life-free!” said Grandpa George. “Just imagine that!”
“They’d have to deliver them in a truck!” said Grandma Georgina.
“It makes me quite ill to think of it.” said Grandma Josephine.
“Nonsense!” cried Grandpa Joe. “Wouldn’t it be something, Charlie, to open a bar of chocolate and see a Golden Ticket glistening inside!”
“I’m afraid that simply isn’t true,” said Grandpa George. “The kids who are going to find the Golden Tickets are the ones who can afford to buy bars of chocolate every day. Our Charlie gets only one a year. There isn’t a hope.”

I used to study at a Canadian high school.
Personally, comparing the lifestyles in the two countries, I like the lifestyle in China better. I feel like the pace of life in Canada is a lot slower than that in China.
In China, most people are busy and have a lot of things to do every day. There are more fun places like restaurants and markets to enjoy. But in Canada, there is almost nothing I can do on the weekends.
In my eyes, Canadians are always very relaxed. My classmates work hard at school, but they also have hobbies. For example, my best friend plays soccer and another friend takes choir lessons. They are always so active about what they do, even if they are not very good at it. My best friend is a good example. She didn’t play soccer very well at first. But she kept practicing it happily every day.
For adults, their work rhythm (节奏) is slow from what I have seen. When I applied (申请) for my student visa (签证), it came back three months later! Once I bought a SIM card for my phone online. In China, the express is very fast, and I can get an item within three days. But in Canada, I waited over two weeks! It really made me annoyed.
I have to say that life is quite different in these two countries.
