The most unhappy day in my life was that day my father was in bed forever (永远). On that day before going to work, I was a little surprised that my father was still _______. I thought to myself , “Is he okay?” I came to his bed and called him, but there was no answer. Panicking (惊慌失措), I shook his hands and ______he was not breathing (呼吸). My heart was broken and I _______out. 

Soon many people _______ into the house-they couldn't believe my father was ______. Just the evening before, they still saw my father _______ his usual walk in the rice field. I held his cold hand and I didn’t want to leave him. I knew it was the last time I would sit beside him.

Mr. Jenkins liked all kinds of delicious foods. As an important officer, he was often asked to dinner.

The shopkeepers tried their best to fawn on(巴结)him. They knew it was good for their business．Now the officer got fatter and fatter．He could hardly go upstairs at home and had to sleep downstairs． He often felt tired if he walked or did some housework. He was worried about it and had to go to see a doctor.

“Stop eating much fat and sugar，Mr. Jenkins,” said  the doctor .Or it will be worse for your health!

It was difficult for the officer to do it. He wouldn’t do as the doctor said. Of course. He found something was wrong with his heart a few months later. Now he thought the doctor was fight. And he had to be in hospital. “You must lose weight, sir, ” said the doctor. “unless you want to die soon!”

“Could you tell me a way to lose weight, please?” “You must do an exercise first.” “Which  exercise?” “To move your head from side to side when you’re invited to dinner!”

A habit is any action that we have performed so often that it becomes something that we do almost without thinking. Some of them are thought to be bad habits. People spend countless hours and dollars each year trying to drop these bad habits but often fail. Why? Change is hard work and there is no shortcut to achieve it. However, there is still some advice for you to follow.

First, look at why you do it. In other words, what’s the result of doing this thing? If your bad habit is shouting at people when you are unhappy or under pressure, what do you get from it? It may make you feel a little better for the moment. Or maybe you have a bad habit of leaving your homework undone. The result could be that you get more time to spend on the Internet!

Next, take a look on the other hand. What are you losing because of your habit? Shouting at other people is a bad habit because it makes people around you feel bad and unhappy. Leaving your homework undone is a bad habit because you may be punished by your teacher. Having more Internet time means that you are losing the chance to learn the things that you need to learn. When you think that way, you’ll find that it’s not wise to keep your bad habit! Now it is time to make a decision. What will you choose? I’m sure you will choose to do what you think is more important.

Taylor Swift broke down as she performed her new song Ronan on Friday night.

But even more emotional was the mother of the beautiful, blue-eyed four-year-old whose heart-breaking battle with cancer inspired the star's hit song.

“I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. I'm surprised I wasn't on the floor bawling,” Maya Thompson said after watching the performance. 

The lyrics of the song came from a blog that Thompson started writing in August 2010, when her son Ronan got a serious cancer. Her lovely, wide-eyed little boy fought the illness for nine months until his death in May 2011.

Thompson used the blog as a way to work through her grief at the loss of her child, something she describes as “'the worst thing that could happen to a family.”

The mother met Swift in October 2011 when she was invited to the singer’s concert in Phoenix. Swift had been reading the mother’s blog for a while and was shocked when she heard of Ronan’s death.

But Thompson didn’t know how much Ronan’s story had effected the singer _________ Swift told her that she wrote a song for Ronan. The mother couldn’t help crying as soon as she heard those words.

Friday was the first time the mother heard Swift's tear-jerking dedication to Ronan. “It was pretty emotional,”she said, adding that hearing her own words set to music was “kind of like reliving it again, but it's something I'll probably always relive.”

If you’re a kid in South Korea these days, you might have trouble playing the latest online game on your smartphone for as long as you want. That’s because the South Korean government has started to take some control what kids can access on their phones.

The government of this Asian nation has developed an app called Smart Sheriff that lets parents know about the websites their kids visit or the apps they use. South Korea has required that kids 18 and under install this app, or another one like it, on their smartphones.

In South Korea eight out of ten kids have one smartphone. But it has a downside. Many students find it hard to concentrate on their studies. Parents and educators are also concerned that kids will explore harmful content on the Internet. So the government has set out to protect kids form the dangers of the Web.

When apps like Smart Sheriff are installed on a phone, the user is blocked from visiting certain websites, and alerts (警告) are sent to parents when a kid types problem words. Smart Sheriff can disable apps, and it keeps track of how much time teens spent on the phone. Supporters of Smart Sheriff believe that this will protect kids from dangers on the Web.

Others disagree. Teens complain that the app encroaches (侵犯) on their right to privacy. Some parents feel that they should be the ones in control of their kids’ smartphone use. They argue that children should be taught how to safely use the Web instead.

For now, the monitoring app is here to stay, but there are a few ways around it. Some teens say they’ll wait until they hit 19 to get a smartphone. Others have suddenly become iphone fans- Smart Sheriff works only on Android phones.
