There are not enough Chinese language teachers in the world. It has become a big problem. Didi Dawis, president of the Indonesia Fujian Association(印尼福建商会), said Indonesia has only about 1,000 Chinese teachers.
With increasing trade and communication between China and Indonesia, more and more companies from the two countries have established language offices. These new companies need a large amount of people who are good at Chinese,” he said.
Didi Dawis hoped that China would take Indonesia’s language needs into consideration and send more Chinese teachers.
In recent years, the Chinese language has become more and more popular worldwide the United States government also noticed the importance of the Chinese language. In New York and California, it has become the second language of many students. In the future, more and more schools will open Chinese course, so they need many high-level Chinese teachers.

Do you think you can communicate without words? A smile on your face shows that you are happy or friendly. Tears in your eyes tell others that you are sad. When you put your hand in class, the teacher knows you want to say something or ask a question. You shake your head, and people know you are saying “No”. You nod and people know you are saying “Yes”.
Other things can also carry messages. For example, a sign at the bus stop helps you to know which bus to take. A sign on the wall of your school helps you to find the library.
Signs on doors tell you where to go in or out. Have you ever noticed that there are a lot of signs around you and that you receive messages from them all the time?
People can communicate in many ways without words. For example, an artist can use his drawings to tell about beautiful mountains, seas and many other things.

Sometimes, people say something to a friend or a family member. Later they regret because it hurts that person’s feelings. Or they tell the person something they didn’t mean to tell. The speaker might say: “I really put my foot in my mouth this time.”
Sometimes when one person is speaking, he says the same thing that his friend is going to say. When this happens, the friend might say: “You took the words right out of my mouth!” Sometimes a person has a bad or sad experience with another person. He might say that experience “left a bad taste in my mouth.” Or the person possibly has a very frightening (可怕的) experience, like having an angry dog running after him. He might say: “I had my heart in my mouth.”
Some people have lots of money because they were born into a very rich family. You might say the person “was born with a silver spoon (银勺) in his mouth”. He is the opposite of a person living from “hand to mouth”. This person is very poor and only has enough money for the most important things in life, like food.

【推荐3】Language changes all the time. New words and phrases appear and grow. The words and pronunciations used by young people in the UK can be very different from those used by adults. Living in a multi (多元的)—cultural society has an effect on language, especially on young people, whose friends are often from a mix of backgrounds. TV and music also influence the language of the young.
Young British people use lots of language that you usually can’t find in most dictionaries. These very informal (不正规的) words and expressions are known as “slang” (俚语). It is not possible to make a complete list of modern British slang. By the time the list was finished, it would be out of date! However, here are a few examples:
◆“Safe”, “sorted”, “sound”, “cool” and “wicked” all mean “That’s good” or “I understand”.
◆“Whatever” means “I don’t care (e.g. A: But the teacher says we can’t leave until we’ve finished. B: Whatever. I’m going.)
◆“He’s fine”. And “He’s fit.” both mean “He’s good-looking” Fine and fit can describe a boy or a girl.
Not everybody uses slang and not everybody likes it. A school in Sheffield has recently required its pupils to stop using slang words such as hiya (hello), cheers and ta (both mean “thank you”). The head teacher says that if young people learn to speak “correctly”, this will help them get a place at university and a good job.
So, how important is it to learn these slang words and expressions? If you watch films or TV in English, read magazines in English, chat online in English or are interested in English song lyrics, then understanding slang can be very useful. You probably won’t see much slang in your English exam, though.
