In the UK, it is usual to tip (付小费) waiters after having meals in a restaurant. In general, waiters expect to get a 10%-15% tip on the cost of your meal.
In Spain, it’s a good idea to have a light meal in the afternoon if someone invites you for dinner. People have dinner very late, and restaurants do not generally open until after 9:00 pm.
I travelled to China last month. When I had dinner with a Chinese host, he always put more food onto my plates as soon as I ate it up. It made me feel uncomfortable. I had to eat the food even if I didn’t want to, because it is considered bad manners in the West to leave one’s food on the plate.
I have already noticed that when a Chinese sits at an American’s dinner party, he often refuses the offer of food or drink though he is in fact still hungry or thirsty.
This might be good manners in China, but it is not in the West at all. In the US it is impolite to keep asking someone again and again or ask him to accept something. Americans have a direct way of speaking. If they want something, they will ask for it. If not, they will say “No, thanks”. When an American is fed with beer by the host, for example, he might say, “No, thanks, I’m on a diet (节食).” That is what an American will do. So when you go to the US, you had better remember the famous saying, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

iPhone X
The iPhone X is a “dream come true”, says Apple. It has some wonderful features(特点). The greatest feature is that the face ID allows users to unlock(解锁) their phone just by looking at their iPhone. Another feature wireless charging(无线充电). A third fun feature allows users to create their own emojis(表情包). Just by looking at the screen, users can see emojis about themselves, such as talking pandas.
Social robot
Can robots talk to us like humans? Jibo can. When you say, “Hey, Jibo,” it will dance and turn round to you. When it talks to you, it will move its round head and big body. Although it has no eyes or mouth, Jibo uses animated icons(动画图标), such as a smile icon, to show how it feels. All of these features make it seem like a real human. Right now, Jibo can only do some easy things, like taking photos or reading the news to you. But it may learn to do new things in the future.
Fidget spinner
The fidget spinner(指尖陀螺) is probably the most popular toy this year. With a ball in the middle, it can twirl(旋转) around on your fingertip(指尖) for a few minutes. After it starts to spin, you can put it on a flat surface, such as on a ruler or even on the nose of a dog. Some people say that this little toy can help them to relax their mind. But it may not be a good thing to spend too much time playing with it.

April 22 marks the 45th World Earth Day, a day for us to celebrate Earth. This year, the idea of the day is “It's our turn to lead”. It tries to express millions of voices to push all leaders to take action on climate (气候) change, the environment, and the connection between poorness and climate change.
Climate change is an important and lasting change of climate. It makes sea levels rise. If sea levels carry on rising, some places, such as the Maldives, St. Petersburg in Russia and Bangkok in Thailand, may disappear under water in just a few years. What’s worse, some animals must become fewer or even die. As a result, it may cause the extinction of certain kinds of animals.
Can we do anything about it? Sure. Everybody can do a little bit to make a big change. Here are some suggestions :
●Make sure you know
Learning about the environment is very important. There are many good books that will help you learn. You can also find more information on the Internet.
● Try to walk to school
Do you go to school by bus or by bike? If you ride bikes, you are doing something good for Earth. Cars, buses and planes produce plenty of air pollution. If your house is near the school, you can simply walk to school to save our earth.

Wash clothes in a green way. It's the best way to wash them by hand if possible every day. Dry the clothes the natural way, by hanging them on a line in an open air instead of putting them in a dryer.

We also like to have a photograph of everybody in the group together. When we want to be in the picture, we need to ask someone to take the photograph for us.
Having photographs is important because people and places always change. It is very sad, for example, if children cannot see photographs of their parents or grandparents in the past. What did Grandfather look like? Where did he use to live? If we do not have photographs, children may not know the answers to these questions. Photographs help us know and understand our history.
