Xinghua is a beautiful city in the     1     (north) part of Taizhou. It covers an area of 2393 square metres and it’s made     2     of 34 towns. There are more than 1,500,000 people living here. Xinghua has     3     history of over 2000 years. Long ago it was named “Zhaoyang” or “Chushui”.

So far many famous people     4     (live) in this old city. Among them, Zheng Banqiao and Shi Nai’an were the     5     (famous) ones.

Spring, especially April, is the best time     6     (visit) Xinghua. The weather is so fine that all the views are wonderful. “Qiandao Rape Flowers” (千岛菜花) here is famous as the most beautiful rape flowers in China. You can’t miss the wonderful     7     (nature) beauty! Xinghua is around by rivers and “The Forest in Water” is another interesting place. Most of the trees grow in the river there. Xinghua is also famous for its delicious local food, such as Crabs (螃蟹), Fish Balls, Dried Tofu     9     so on. Things here are not expensive. There are many good supermarkets and shopping malls. You can buy some presents for your relatives and friends.

Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong Province in the southern part of China. There are many places of interest.

Beijing Road is one of them. It was once called the centre of Guangzhou. It is a wonderful shopping p    1     in Guangzhou, just like Nanjing Road in Shanghai. You have the chance to b    2     a lot of things, such as different kinds of clothes and some special snacks. There are also a lot of restaurants on Beijing Road, such as Tao Tao Ju Restaurant and Jubao Restaurant.

The night view of Beijing Road is very nice. You can see the b    3     lights along the street. And people like to take a walk in Renmin Park after supper.

During some big festivals and holidays, Beijing Road is usually ready to w    4     the guests at home and abroad for celebrating. You can e    5     the flower market and other celebrations there during the Chinese New Year.

The Town of Clarkson

Clarkson is a large town. There     1     (be) around 50, 000 people there. It sits next     2     a large river, the Clark River. Every day, it’s easy for people     3     (go) to work from North Clarkson to South Clarkson by boat.

Most people live in North Clarkson. There are many trees and the streets are very clean. When the sun shines and the     4    (child) run and play in the safe streets, North Clarkson is a wonderful place to live. South Clarkson has a lot of shops and factories. People don’t live there, but they come in     5     morning to work. There is also a big stadium (体育场). On Sundays, many people go to watch     6     (they) favorite team.

On the weekend, people from Clarkson enjoy     7     (walk) along the bank of the Clark River. They also sail small boats on the water and if the weather is a little     8     (wind), they will fly kites in the large park.

Every year, Clarkson grows in size because a lot of people come to live here. Now the town     9     (build) more houses and the streets are getting busier. Maybe in the future (未来),       10     the town keeps growing, it will be a city!
