Many people like to travel by plane, but I don’t like it because the airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off(起飞) and it is often late. You can’t open the windows. You can’t choose(选择) the food. Planes are fast, but it takes hours to go out of the airport(机场) and into the city.
I like traveling by train. I think trains are safe. Railway stations are usually in cities. When you are late for a train, you can catch(赶上) another one. You can walk around in the train. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time.
I also like cars. You can start your journey when you want to, and you don’t need to get to a train station or a bus stop. Also you can carry(携带) many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.

A carpool is a group of people sharing the responsibility (责任) of driving to school in the morning. There are usually four or five kids in a carpool and their parents take turns(轮流) to drive the kids in their cars.
Someone's car smells like wet dogs. Some kids get to eat desserts (甜点) for breakfast and some parents shout so much that all you try to do is to stay quiet and go unnoticed. When your mom or dad drives the carpool, your classmates get a close-up look at how strange your parents can be. It might be your first sociological (社会学) study and your first time to work with others.
Teamwork is really important in the carpool because nobody wants to make everyone else late. It's a great lesson in responsibility. Imagine (想象) sitting in the car outside of a classmate's house, watching the clock and counting the seconds. Then you start to understand how your carpool friends might feel when you are still inside the house at 7:48. You really begin to learn all your real life lessons just moments before the start of school-in the carpool.

“Beep, beep,” goes the car horn(喇叭). You’ve got dressed, but you’ve not had time to eat breakfast. You run out of the front door with your schoolbag, and jump into the waiting car. Inside, your friends say “hey” as one of their parents drives you to school.
Car pools are a common way of transportation for many students in the US. You, along with many of your friends, can sit in one car.

However, for Italian painter and printmaker Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964), it was the very act of looking that became the creation. In fact, Morandi once said, “The feelings that the world awakens in us are very difficult to express or are perhaps inexpressible with words, because they are decided by forms, colors, space and light.”
Not only did Morandi spend his life in and around his hometown of Bologna, Italy, but he seldom even left his office. He chose to paint nearby landscapes, and more famously, the same objects—cups, bottles, vases, bowls—over and over again. The result is that he separated everyday things from their use and purpose, leading us to the thought of the color and shape.
Although he focused on common things, Morandi’s paintings took us to a new world of what a painting and, more specifically, a still life could be. Also known as “advanced gray”, Morandi colors are quiet, and deeply self-discovery, further showing the artist’s creative belief. It is a color palette (调色盘) that we’re seeing more and more, in everything from fashion clothes to well-known branding.
Morandi’s first exhibition in China which opened at Beijing’s M WOODS Gallery in the 798 Art Zone, from last December to April 5 — said of Morandi’s use of color, “I think the colors really take the type of emotion and sense from people. Morandi expressed his advice in his works: Keep calm and carry on.”

People don’t go on long trips because of COVID-19 cases. Thanks to live streaming, people can visit many places virtually and enjoy the scenery without going outdoors.
During the May Day Holiday, 250 million people took an online tour by live streaming (直播) on TikTok (a short video app). Taishan Juanjie live streamed the sunrise at the top of Mount Tai on May 1st and attracted 330,000 views.
China Youth Daily made a survey (调查) of about 2,000 people on “cloud tourism”. According to the survey results, 74.8% of them said they were willing to take an online tour and 59.7% said they had a good online travelling experience.
“I hate large crowds and long queues (队列), which make me annoyed when visiting museums in person,” said Wang Bo, a museum lover in Beijing. “What’s more, ‘cloud tourism’ helps cut travel costs and offers more tourist attractions.”

Hello, everyone! Take a look at this cartoon. In this cartoon, a young man who stands on a skateboard drawn by a dog is moving at a high speed. This cartoon shows us that a new lifestyle called low carbon (碳) life is spreading every corner of our country. No carbon means no energy and no waste.
With the development of science and technology, our life is becoming much more comfortable. At the same time, an undeniable (无法否认的) fact also lies ahead of us - the condition of the environment is becoming worse and worse.
How can we solve the problem? In my opinion, firstly, I hope a No Car Day is set up every week in our school, because cars not only cause serious air pollution but also waste energy. On No Car Day, neither students nor teachers are allowed to drive to school. We can just walk, jump, ride bikes or run. Use our legs and enjoy the fun.
Secondly, we had better not use plastic bags anymore. No one can stand the “white pollution”. So, it is wise to use bags which can be used again and again.
Finally, one thing that we should keep in mind: every big thing comes from something small. Therefore, as students, we should turn off the lights the moment we leave, turn off the tap in time and reuse our textbooks and so on.
All in all, it is important for all of us to make the world a better place. Just set our mind to this: “Who you are makes a difference in the world.” Let’s take action. Thank you for your listening!
