Fantastic Reading Week

Mother’s Day Cream Tea
We are sending home a letter inviting you to join your child/grandchild for an afternoon cream tea in celebration of Mother’s Day. The tea will be held at 3 p.m. on 10th May. If you would like to take part, please return your letter and payment by Monday, 31st April.

2022 World Cup Mascot(吉祥物) The mascot for Qatar World Cup is La’eeb--an Abrabic word means “super-skilled player”. La’eeb encourages everyone to believe in themselves and to get going now. It brings the joy of soccer to everyone! La’eeb was inspired by a traditional Arab headdress(头巾). You can find him at matches and on lots of posters, stickers and toys. 2024 Olympic Mascot The mascots for the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris have been made public. They are called the Phryges, and their shapes are inspired by a type of traditional hat that is seen as a symbol of freedom in France. Their motto(格言) is, “Alone we go faster, but together we go further”. With people dressed as a dinosaur, a dog and all kinds of fun characters, the Mascot Gold Cup is a funny, crazy running race for health. It’s a special charity(慈善) event that is held every year. It raises money for a charity that supports families suffering from(遭受)a life-ending illness. Since the event began in 2005, it has collected more than £175, 000 for the charity. |

【推荐2】An exhibition(展览)themed on the classic Chinese animated film The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven (动画电影: 《大闹天宫》) appeared at Shanghai Tower on Friday and will run till Oct.8.
The exhibition shows photos and videos of the film, including original sketches(原稿) of the film characters which are being shown to the public for the first time.
The Monkey King, or Sun Wukong, is a character from the novel Journey to the West, by writer Wu Cheng’en during the Ming Dynasty(明朝). The novel is about four people’s adventures during their journey in the Tang Dynasty.
