When I was young, I fell in love with reading. The books brought a wonderful world to me. The more I read, the     1     (happy ) I felt. However, my parents could not afford so many books.

There was     2     bookshop near my home. One day I     3     (go) into the bookshop and picked up a book. I didn’t know whether I could read there without buying any books. To make sure, I just read a few pages and then put it back. Luckily, no one noticed     4     (I). After that, I often went there to read. One day, while I was reading, the owner came up and asked, “You like reading?” “Yes,” I replied nervously. “I have made a decision,” he said     5     a smile, “You may read books here     6    you help me clean the shop.” I felt quite     7    (excite). From then on, every time after I cleaned the shop, I     8     (quiet) read there. Finally, I became one of the best     9     (writer) in our school.
