People ride bikes around the world. In China, you may see that many people don’t     1     helmets when riding bikes. But in many other countries, people have to wear them     2     they ride their bikes. In some places of the USA, riding bikes     3     helmets is against the law (法律). Other countries,     4     as Australia and Spain, have laws saying that everyone must wear a helmet to keep     5    . Many people say that helmets are like seatbelts (安全带). Wearing them can protect people’s     6     from injury.

In China, bicycles have their own special roads. In the USA, roads are only for cars. People seldom ride their bikes to schools or work, but this isn’t true for other countries in     7     west. The Netherlands (荷兰) has a lot of bikes     8     it doesn’t cause pollution. The whole country     9     good bicycle roads.

Do you ride your bike to school? In China, this is very common. But in the USA, kids only ride their bikes for fun     10     the weekend. They see bicycling as a sport. They think riding bikes can help them keep fit.
