What’s your favorite color? In 2019, you might choose orange.
The Pantone Color Institute, a US professional color standards company, has chosen Living Coral(珊瑚橘) as its 2019 color of the year. Living Coral is a shade of orange with a golden undertone. Bright and warm, it is the color of coral reefs under the sea.
Pantone said Living Coral is a color that makes people feel good. It provides comfort and cheerfulness in fast-paced modern times.
Modern technology and social media have become increasingly hard to separate from daily life, according to Pantone. The company tried to choose a color that suggests connection and intimacy(亲密感).
It is true that online life is everywhere. Social media, photo sharing and online games , people are connected with each other online more than ever. But it seems that we are losing our ability to communicate in person. How many friends can enjoy a meal together without looking at their smartphones? Cyber bullying(网络霸凌) and online rum or shave also created a general feeling of discontent.
“We’re looking toward those colors that bring comfort and familiarity that make us feel good. It’s not too heavy. We want to play. We want to be uplifted,” said Pressman, Pantone’s vice president.
“It’s the emotional nourishment. It’s a big hug,” she said of Living Coral.
It looks like the world will see more of Living Coral in 2019. Perhaps it can encourage more of us to put our phones down and get closer to our loved ones.

The Pantone Color Institute in the US forecasts (预测) color trends (趋势) every year. For 2020, it has chosen "classic blue", a color that reminds people of the sky before dark. The reason is that it brings "calm, confidence and connection," according to Pantone.
In 2020, people all over the world faced big challenges. Climate change, disease, homeless-ness... all of these problems made us feel nervous and uneasy. But as Pantone Vice(副) President Laurie Pressman said, "The color of classic blue has a comforting power."
Imagine that you are lying down on the ground and looking at the evening sky. Looking at the blue sky will make you feel calm and relaxed, as well as make you think on a deeper level.
Pantone said that classic blue connects people everywhere as we all look up at our shared sky. "This is a color we can relate to (引起共鸣) around the world, no matter where we live. We look outside the door and we see this color," Pressman said.
"Like blue jeans, it's always there and you're comfortable with it," said Pressman, who considered classic blue as a " timeless shade". If the color is never out of style, people won't throw "classic blue" things away. We can buy less and save resources.
So if you want to add some new things to your home, choose something blue to keep up with the latest trend.

In traditional Chinese culture, the moon is a carrier of human emotions (情感). In ancient times, from royalty to the ordinary family, it was an important custom to appreciate the full moon during the festival. Adults usually enjoyed delicious mooncakes with a cup of hot tea, while children ran around with bright lanterns. After nightfall, whole families went out for a walk under the stars, looking up at the full moon and thinking of their relatives or friends, as well as those who were far from home. A line from a poem “The moon viewed at home is brighter” expresses those feelings.

Many ancient Chinese poets also showed their preference for the moon through wonderful words. For example, the poet Li Bai wrote hundreds of poems about the moon during his lifetime.
The Chinese exploring moon project (探月工程), named after Chang’e, fully expresses this pursuit (追求) of the Chinese. The successful launch (发射) of Chang’e 1 not only laid the ground work for future exploration of the moon, but also made a long-held dream of the Chinese people come true.
