【推荐1】A street dog becomes popular in the neighborhood. It brings new customers (客户) to a bank in Dalian, Liaoning Province.

The dog is yellow and white with a broken ear. It began walking around the neighborhood about six years ago. It often looked for food at a farmers’ market beside the bank. To stop people from hurting it, a kind shop owner took it in. So it could sleep in the shop at night and walk around the neighborhood during the day. Later, some workers at the bank began to feed the dog.

Liu Jian, a cleaner at the bank, would like to take better care of the dog. She took it home and gave it the name Meili. “I just do the legwork,” Liu said. “The bank workers buy food and snacks for it. They also took it to see the doctor in the animal hospital.” Sometimes, local people give the bank workers some change on their way home from the market to buy food for Meili.

A woman lives nearby and she always visits the dog every time she passes the bank. “Meili is such a nice dog. I never saw it bark (吠叫) at anyone. Instead, it likes staying with us,” she says.

“Because of the shared love of the dog, we’re talking more with people nearby, and over 30 of them become new customers thanks to Meili,” says Zhang Yi, manager of the bank.
