Welcome to life in 2045! You get up in the morning and look into the mirror! You’ve had a new anti-aging treatment (治疗), so you look like a 30-year-old. And many people at your age could live to be 120 now, so at 60 you’re not old at all.

Science has also found great ways to keep people healthy. Nanotechnology (纳米技术) can help treat a lot of illnesses. And if any part of your body is unhealthy, you can “grow” a new one in a laboratory (实验室).

As you get dressed, you say to your shirt, “Turn red.” It becomes red. In 2045, smart clothes have something special that carries energy (能量). So you can program clothes to change colors or patterns (样式).

On the way to the kitchen, you want to call a friend. Your cell phone is by the window because it gets its energy from the sun. But you don’t need to pick up the phone. You can just touch your jacket to make the call.

It’s breakfast time. You reach for the milk, but a voice says, “Don’t drink that!” Your fridge knows the milk is old, and tells the supermarket to replace it. Ten minutes later, you can get fresh milk from a flying robot.

As you leave for work, the lights turn off by themselves. Your home goes into “sleep” to save energy. In 2045, cars drive themselves, so you just tell your driverless car where you want to go.

Will all this come true? Maybe the future is much closer than we think.

【推荐1】Where do you think people will live in the future? Can you imagine people work and live in the sea? But how will people go to work then? By submarine (潜水艇)!

Some scientists believe that some day submarines will be as many as today’s car. A famous French driver says, “One day, man will work on the ocean floor as they do on the street!”

If people want to live in the sea, they have to solve a lot of problems first. 【推荐3】It used to sound like a dream, but space tourism is becoming a reality (现实).

On Sept 15, 2021, US space tech company SpaceX sent four civilians (平民) into space, kicking off (开启) the company’s new space tourism business. The four spent three days in space and flew to an altitude (高度) even farther out than the International Space Station.

Just two months ago, in July, 70-year-old British billionaire (亿万富翁) Richard Branson, and 57-year-old American billionaire Jeff Bezos, both flew into space aboard spacecraft developed by their own companies.

А nеw еrа (时代) оf рrіvаtе (私人的) ѕрасе travel seems ready to take off.

According to Forbes, one open seat on Jeff Bezos Blue Origin rocket cost $28 million (about 181 million yuan) at auction (竞拍) in June. As to the Space X trip, Time magazine said all four seats cost $200 million.

With the sky-high prices, should ordinary people give up on their space dreams?

Maybe not. US flight engineer Bobak Ferdowsi believes that the billionaire space race trend (趋势) won’t last forever, and that the price will come down.“Maybe in 10 to 15 years, it’s a decision between ‘do I buy a new car, or do I go to space?’ We should invest (投资) in future that allows us to live somewhere else.”

D.It’s possible for ordinary people to take their space tourisms in the future.
