What is it about France that makes it so special? One reason most people fly to France is because of its location. It is located in Western Europe and is surrounded by (被……环绕着) eight countries including Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain. If you are passing through Europe, it is likely that you will end up going through at least part of France. France is also connected to England via a 34-kilometre tunnel that runs under the English Channel. It’s easy to travel between the two countries.

France is famous for its food, which is another reason why so many people travel there. The French are proud of their food, and it is well loved around the world. But perhaps not everybody travels to France to eat snails (蜗牛), frog legs, or blue cheese!

France is filled with old castles and chateaus (庄园). The most famous of them all, Versailles (凡尔赛宫), lies just outside of Paris. It was built for a French king. Its 700 beautiful rooms are decorated with expensive paintings, carpets, and ceramics (陶瓷制品) from all around the world. It also has amazing gardens.

The last reason France is special is that there are over 220 million French speakers worldwide. Perhaps many people go to France because they can already speak the language. This makes it much easier for them to travel around and work. French is an official language in over 29 countries.

The fact of the matter is that France is one of the top tourist destinations for many reasons, the location, places to see, things to eat, or even the language. One thing is for sure: in France there is something for everyone.

Do you know Roma people? They were called Gypsies(吉普赛人)by Europeans because they thought they came from Egypt(a country in Africa). About a thousand years ago, the Roma people left their homeland. They are known as nomads because for hundreds of years many of them have lived in large groups that travel from place to place. They have no real homeland.
Today, the Roma are now living all over the world. They have kept their language and many customs. For example, it’s important for Roma to marry other Roma. 【推荐3】Have you ever heard of India? It is said that from old times, India has been a good friend to China. It is an interesting and mysterious country with a long history. Around 2,000 BC, Indian civilization was born. It is one of the four oldest civilizations in the world.

India is also the birthplace of   Buddhism(佛教). A famous Chinese novel, Journey to the West, is about a Chinese monk who tried very hard to learn about Buddhism from India. Today, religion is still an important part of Indian culture. There are many religions there. Most Indian people believe in Hinduism(印度教). In India, cows are very special animals because Hinduism says they are holy, so Indians don't sell or eat beef.
