When we got there, it was still so early that the shop wasn't open yet. It was nearly half an hour before the business time. So we went over to the waiting area-beside the gate and I read pieces of the newspaper aloud for her. After 30 minutes, we went into the gift shop. Pushing her around, I could see the joy on her face as she looked at everything. She happily pointed to some shelves with chocolates. She asked me to push her forward. I helped her pick out several kinds of chocolates. She thanked and decided to pack them in three different boxes.
As she was paying. She asked the cashier for a pen and asked me to write the numbers 1, 2 and 3 on the boxes. She explained that the nurses were taking such good care of her, so she decided to give them a surprise. She thought it was the best to offer some chocolates to each of the three shifts(三班倒)of nurses.
About two hours later, we returned to the hospital. The moment I wheeled her back up to her room, she gave the box of chocolate to the present shift of nurses, and they shared the sweet with me. There were smiles all around. And the elderly lady was really glad, too.
On that day, I came to know that getting the chance to spend time with someone who got so much pleasure from life was a gift itself.

March is famous for Lei Feng Day and Tree Planting Day. Both of them are aimed to show humans’ kindness and friendship. It’s a way to show others how much they matter.
So this year, why not think about the different ways that you can show some extra kindness? Helping other people is guaranteed to make you feel happy, and here are a few easy ways to spread some love.
You don’t have to spend money or buy gifts to show old people that they’re important. Giving your time is also really valuable. You could help at a fundraising (筹备资金) event, have a weekly video call with a grandparent and look after them when they feel lonely.
Charities work hard to raise money so that they can help people. So dropping some spare coins into a donation box or sponsoring a friend or family member can make a big difference. Don’t forget, you can also donate clothes and toys that you've grown out of to your local charity shop.
People always notice a thoughtful or considerate act, whether it’s sharing your sweets or making a cup of tea for your grown-ups, small acts of kindness are a great way to make people feel special.
Sometimes we all need a few extra helping hands. Perhaps you could help a younger brother or sister with their homework, wash an elderly neighbor’s car or offer to collect up books at the end of lesson. It might only take a few minutes, but it could make a big difference to someone’s day.
A. DonatingB. A helping hand
C. Buying gifts

To help lost people reunite (团聚) with their family, a woman from East China’s Shandong Province has become a self-taught “dialect master (方言大师) ”.
Tan Yinghuan is a 43-year-old woman from Dezhou. She has taught herself a lot of dialects from different areas in China over the past nine years. And she has helped more than 300 people reunite with their lost loved ones.
In 2014, Tan joined a chat group that shares information on families looking for lost loved ones. She met a girl named Xiao Jiang. The girl grew up with her adopted (领养) parents. By studying the dialect and childhood memories of the girl, Tan found the hometown of the girl. One year later, the girl went back to her hometown and reunited with her birth parents. That was the first time she felt what she did was really helpful. Since then, Tan has spent all her free time helping people look for their family.
As those people are from different parts of the country, Tan finds it difficult to understand what they say. If she doesn’t understand it, she would record it and listen repeatedly (重复地) , sometimes for days or weeks on end.
“I am glad to use what I have learned to help others,” Tan said. “I don’t want anything in return.”
