There are always some old clothes you don’t want. And there is always some food you don’t eat. What can you do? Send them to the following two places.

Wall of Kindness.

You can see Wall of Kindness in many cities now, like Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen and Qingdao. People usually hang their old clothes on the wall. Then people who need them can take the clothes away. You can also see trousers, sweaters, jackets and coats on the wall.

Share Fridge (冰箱).

China has its first Share Fridge in Shanghai. There’s a lot of food in it, like cakes and cookies. The food is from some restaurants and shops. They volunteer to provide (提供) the food. People don’t need to buy the food because it’s free. They can take it home if they need the food.

Campbell Remess is a boy from Australia. He made lots of teddy bears(玩具熊) for children. People who know the boy call him Australia’s care bear kid.

    1     At that time, he wanted to buy gifts for children at the hospital. But it would be too expensive for his parents to buy gifts for every child.     2     Campbell made the first teddy bear in his bedroom. It was difficult for him because he never did it before.     3     And it took him five hours to finish it.

But now, at the age of 16, Campbell can make a teddy bear in an hour.     4     He hopes that he can make a teddy bear every day. Campbell’s lovely bears make many children feel warm.     5     “When I see the bear, I see hope,” she said. Campbell spoke to many children about how they could make a difference(有影响). Just a she said, everyone can do something to help.

【推荐2】In October 2012, I joined an organization to volunteer to work in Thailand. When I arrived in Thailand, I thought I would be taken to an orphanage（孤儿院）. However, I was told that I had to go to the place where I would live by train alone. And then I knew that my job was to teach English in a school instead of working at an orphanage.

The next day I went to the school and met the kids I would teach. In the classroom, the kids looked at me, saying nothing. No one could speak English. But from their eyes, I knew they were really nervous to learn English. It seemed like a big challenge for me, but that was just what I wanted.

Although I loved the kids and the challenge, my life in Thailand was quite hard at first. I was alone and there was nobody I could talk to. However, I didn’t give up. If I had been afraid of difficulties, I wouldn’t have traveled all the way from England to Thailand to be a volunteer. Little by little, I learned some Thai（泰国语）and started to fall in love with Thailand. Every time I saw the kids’ pleasure of learning English, I was happy and felt that what I was doing was really worthwhile.

Now I’m working in a hospital in Thailand. If you also want to be a volunteer like me, don’t worry too much about the food or the place where you live. After all, as a volunteer, the most important thing is to help people who need help!
