6 . Study Better with Flash Cards (闪示卡)
If you think flash cards are used only to teach ABCs to little kids, think again. They can be used by anyone at any time to remember important information. Follow these steps to make your own flash cards and make learning easier.
How to Make Flash Cards
Step 1
Choose between cards or a flash card app like AnkiApp. Then, pick a model. There are millions of online models, but you can also make your own.
Step 2
Decide what you need to learn or go over. Think about what information is the most important and write it in your own words.
Step 3
Try not to write too much. Write down facts or ideas, but keep one per flash card. Write a word or sentence (句子) on one side and other things on the back. Here’s an example: Beijing/The capital of China.
Step 4
Add pictures or drawings to your flash cards to make them more interesting to look at and easier to remember.
How to Use Flash Cards
First, flash cards are easy to carry around, so they can be used anywhere. You can study them at any time you like. Repeat it from time to time, and it will be easy for you to remember the information.
Second, flash cards can help you find your problems. When you’re using flash cards, always make two parts: one for the facts you remember, and one for those you forget. At the end of your study, you can review (复习) the difficult part.
Finally, always be sure to read your flash cards loudly. Reading aloud helps you keep information in your long-term memory (记忆). Try it for yourself. Before you know it, your grades will go up-all thanks to your use of flash cards.

7 . “I find this hard. Can I talk to you about it please?” “I’ve tried doing it in different ways, but it doesn’t work. Could you help me?” Although learning how to solve a problem by yourself is a way of growing up, it doesn’t mean you have to try it alone (独自) all the time.
There are lots of reasons why you could need help. For example, you have a problem with your schoolwork or learning a new skill; you feel sad or angry because you’re finding something difficult; or it’s taking a long time to make progress (进步) in your study. That is when you might need some help. And asking for help will move you forward more quickly than trying hard by yourself.
Asking for help isn’t always easy. It can be difficult if you’re not sure who to ask. You may think they don’t want to help you, or they haven’t got the time. If you’re shy, it can be harder to open your mouth to ask. Angela McMillan, a teacher who advises young people, says asking for help can feel risky (有风险的). “We may feel afraid that it isn’t something important to others, or that they don’t know what to say.”
Everyone finds things difficult sometimes, and you’re not the only one. McMillan believes asking for help is a way of facing up to problems. “It’s good to let someone in, ask them to listen to you and help you come up with ideas to solve a problem. By asking for help, you practice speaking up for yourself and saying what you need. It also helps other people better understand your problem and then you are more able to solve the problem.”

Five Tips for Learning Language
Although learning a foreign language can be difficult, the following tips will increase your ability to succeed in language learning.
Accept the fact that you will not understand everything. Not understanding and making mistakes are a very natural part of the language learning process. In fact, at the very beginning, you will not understand much at all. Don’t expect too much.
Research shows that language students learn better when they study more often. And they also learn better for shorter periods of time. Try to study each day, and whenever possible, several times a day.
The process of using language from your mind to your mouth is a skill that requires a great deal of practice. So say vocabulary words out loud, read passages in the text aloud, do pronunciation activities aloud and not just silently.
Work together on homework assignments(任务), to learn vocabulary, to study for tests, or just to practice speaking the language. Communication does not only happen between the teacher and students, but more among you and your classmates.
There is no “best” way to learn a language, because everyone learns a bit differently. Find your own personal advantages and let them help you in your learning process. It is more important for you to learn to think in the language than to know the meaning of every word.
A.Work with study groups. |
B.Set possible expectations. |
C.Practice language actively. |
D.Divide study time into smaller parts. |
E.Be patient to work with classmates. |
F.Find your own way in language learning. |
