Many language teachers know the importance of music and they often use it in teaching and learning. Hua Zhuying, a teacher at a Chinese language school in Washington D.C., likes using songs in teaching Chinese. She said, “I use music all the time to teach children Chinese. For little kids, we usually use English songs but teach them the Chinese lyrics. Not only does it work, but it is fun for children. Sometimes I think if I learned English that way when I was young, maybe I could speak English much better.”

Chinese seems easy because you’ve spoken it since childhood. Now, we can’t go back to our childhood to learn English, but we can learn from kids.     1

First, use notebooks. Take one notebook with you in class and write down what the teacher says in class. This way will help you remember things.

Then, have a good sleep. Sleep is really important to each of us. Most of us need to sleep for seven to nine hours a night. But do you know how to have a good sleep? First of all, try to keep the same sleeping time every night, even on Saturdays and Sundays. Then, drink a glass of milk before you go to bed. 7 . ①As you know, homework is a big part of going to school. Luckily, here is some advice for you to make homework easy.

②Make a homework plan. Most middle school students have two or three hours of homework a night. If it is a heavy homework day, you may need to spend even more time. It is a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule (进度表), if you are going to do sports or other activities afterschool.
