How is it going with you? I’m fine in China. Hangzhou is a beautiful city. There are quite a lot of     2     (river) and lakes here. The West Lake is very big and beautiful. Nanjing is a city that has played an important role in Chinese history for thousands of years. Nanjing     1     (name) the capital city first in 229 AD during the Three Kingdoms period. It has been a capital city many times. It’s a place that is relatively unknown     2     foreigners yet very popular with local tourists.

When Dave and I got the chance     3     (travel) to it, we jumped at it. We hadn’t known anything about Nanjing before going, but hearing that it was a popular destination from Shanghai, we were excited to explore it. It turns out that Nanjing is one of our favourite     4     (place) to visit in China.

We first went to Nanjing Niushoushan Cultural Park. A trolley (电车) took us to the top of the mountain     5     we could view the immaculate (圣洁的) Buddhist Palace that was built into the side of the mountain.     6     (open) in 2015, it is an example that proves the traditional and the modern can co-exist.

But soon we     7     (realize) that a real treat was inside the palace when we took the escalator (自动扶梯) 6 stories underground to see the Thousand-Buddha Hall. With a height of 28 metres, the golden hall is     8     (impress).

We highly recommend     9     (take) a full day to explore the Niushoushan Cultural Park to visit all the sites on the mountains. And do remember visiting the Usnisa Palace is     10     must.

The summer vacation is coming. Maybe some people want to go a    1     during the vacation. But I’m     2     (考虑) visiting some wonderful cities in China.     3     (在……之中) them, Hangzhou is one of the best places that I’d like to choose. Hangzhou is in the s    4     part of China and is the capital of Zhejiang Province. It has a p    5     of about 8, 800, 000 and has lots of places of interest to visit. These places     6     (包括) the West Lake, Lingyin Temple and so on. Every day, t    7     of tourists go there to take a holiday. Another place that interests a lot of people is Leifeng     8     (塔). Maybe you don’t know much about it, but I’m sure everyone has h    9     of the story called The New Legend of White Snake. Besides, the weather in Hangzhou is nice all year round. So you can choose to go     10     (无论何时) you like. What are you waiting for? Come and enjoy the beauty in Hangzhou.

    1     are you in Guangzhou? Emily and I are fine     2     London. It is winter now, and the weather here is not very nice. It’s snowing heavily. London is a beautiful     3     modern city. There     4     many famous buildings in London, such as the Big Ben and the British Museum. We have much fun and learn a lot in the museum.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve (圣诞前夕), and there are many people at Harrods. They are buying Christmas presents there. In the park, children are playing with snow. Everyone is happy. By the way, the tea here is great. And Emily is going to buy some black tea for you.
