Have you seen or been one of those people who throw garbage out of the car window on the roads? Well, if you’re travelling to Karnataka then you’re going to think twice before littering.
According to Bangalore Mirror, an Indian daily, two youths, who had thrown two packing boxes of pizza in Madiken, Karnataka, were made to travel back 80 km from Madikeri to Coorg (Kodagu) to clean up the garbage.
This happened after the General Secretary of Kodagu Tourism Association (旅游协会) found some pizza boxes thrown on the side of the road. He said “I was keeping a close watch on our station to keep it clean. When I was returning to my home on Friday, at around 2:15 p.m., I saw some pizza packing boxes thrown on the side of the road. I felt like all our work had gone in vain (徒劳). So I decided to open up the packet and luckily found a bill which had the person’s phone number. I called up the person and asked him to return and clean up the garbage.”
He went on to say, “However, the person on the phone said sorry but refused to come back as they were already out of Kodagu. So I called up the local police. They tried to ask the youths to come back, but it didn’t work either.”
Then they put the person’s number shared on the social media. After receiving unknown calls, the youths felt ashamed and finally travelled 80 km to come to pick up the packing boxes at around 3:45 p m. on that day.
