Being a fit and healthy person is very important to lots of people today. In fact, some people like exercising so much that they love keeping track of it.

    1     to fitness apps and gadgets (小装置), people can measure (测量) every step they take, what they eat and every calorie they burn. They might wear a special watch on their wrist, special shoes on their     2     or use different apps on their phones to measure their movements.     3    , once they have done that, they post it on social media. All of their friends can see where they     4    ,what activities they’ve done,or what they have had for lunch. Sounds familiar?

Doctor Daniel Kraft from the United States makes gadgets for people like these. He told the Digital Health Summit that these people     5     become the norm (常态) in the future.

And I think he’s right. I can see the world of     6     and fitness changing around me every day.

One of my friends, named Anna Palmer, is always     7     the latest fitness gadgets. Her favorite is an app called Argus. She uses it on her phone to measure her steps, heart rate and the number of calories she has     8    . She always posts these things, and pictures of     9     exercising on social media. “It’s nice to know exactly how much exercise you have done, rather than guess,” she said. “That way I can keep pushing myself to improve.”

Flynn McGarry from the San Fernando Valley is a teenager. He has already cooked for many people. He started     1     at the age of ten. And he has ever made a 12­course meal for 40 people.

Flynn said he was interested in cooking     2     he didn’t like his mother’s food. But his mother was not unhappy with Flynn at all. She bought her son cookbooks and     3     him look for some recipes on the Internet.

“My mum didn’t really like cooking, and I didn’t really like     4     food. After I watched some dishes on the Food Network, I thought, ‘I     5     do this.’ I am very creative, and I wanted to make my own     6    . I did variations (变更) from cookbooks and cooked them for my family. Then, I started to     7     making dishes and I started to cook for more people than just my family.”

Then his mother     8     Eureka—a restaurant for him. Now Flynn is still in education but he has lots of     9     time to cook in Eureka. His mother says she supported her son’s hobby because he     10     liked cooking at a young age.
