Before deciding on your future career, it’s important to perform thorough research and to know your options. Knowing all of your career choices can help you make the right decision     1     (base) on your interests and skills. As you look for the right career, keep your biggest strengths     2     mind. Though you can always work on your skill set, starting your research with jobs you’d be good at can lead you in the right direction. It can also improve your chances of job    3     (satisfy).

I was 20 years old, and my parents were looking forward to the day when I would be earning my own living.     1    (unfortunate), I had absolutely no idea     2     I wanted my future occupation to be.

But that was before the postman delivered a catalog of courses     3    (offer) at the local college. As I looked through it, I was attracted by a page that talked about the     4    (difficulty) faced by deaf people and how students could help by     5    (learn) sign language. Then I saw something that really caught my eye. “Signers” are also needed for sporting events, concerts and   theatrical performances! By the time I got to the bottom of the page, I knew I     6     (find) the perfect occupation .

I enrolled on the course, which to my parents’ great delight was free     7    charge. The course was brilliant. My favorite part was the final lesson, when our teacher asked us     8     (sign) our favorite song. It was really difficult because we had to find a way of showing whether the song was happy     9     sad and whether the beat was slow or fast. It was the hardest thing I had ever done — but also     10     most rewarding.
