In India, a lot of elephants aren’t wild. Instead, they are domesticated (驯养的). They aren’t kept as pets,     1     as working animals. Every working elephant has its own keeper. An elephant and its keeper meet for the first time when they are both young.     2     (develop) a strong and lasting relationship, the elephant and its keeper grow up together.
