1 . The Student Essay Competition of Yorkshire

We are thrilled to announce the beginning of our annual student essay competition. This competition provides a fantastic opportunity for all of you to showcase your writing skills, express your creativity and win exciting prizes.

The theme for this year’s competition is “The Power of Education” We want to hear your thoughts on how education has the power to make a difference to the world, transform lives, and create a better future for all. All high school students from Yorkshire can participate in the competition.

Essay Guidelines:

*The essay should be written in English.

*The word count should be between 500 and 1,000.

*The essay should be different from anything that has existed before and not be previously published.

*Proper citation and referencing are required for any external sources used.

*Plagiarism(抄袭)will result in disqualification.

Submission Details:

Please submit your essays via email to YKSEC@yahoo.com by 8th next month. The subject line of the email should read: “Student Essay Competition + your name”.

Prizes:

2 . Visiting During Coronavirus

Take time to walk in Shakespeare's footsteps, without the usual crowds. Your visit to Shakespeare's Birthplace will help us to ensure that Shakespeare's heritage survives this difficult period for future visitors to enjoy.

To keep our visitors and staff safe, we have introduced a timed ticket system. All tickets must be booked in advance, even if you have a pre-existing ticket. Groups larger than 6 are not allowed to book, meet, or interact at our site unless they are part of the same household. Sec below for more details and read about the extra safety measures we've put in place.

Please note that Anne Hathaway's Cottage. Shakespeare's New Place, Mary Arden's Farm and Hall's Croft will remain closed until at least spring 2021.

Pre-booking is essential

Online booking is essential to secure your time slot. We'll be unable to grant you entry without a pre-booked, tinted entry ticket. Tickets will be released every Friday, with availability up to 2 weeks in advance.

Before your visit

Please bear the following things in mind, and check our website and social media for updates before travelling.

● If showing COVID-19 symptoms please stay at home.

● Wear a face covering in indoor spaces (unless exempt).

● We may conduct temperature checks.

● Bag searches are in operation.

● We do not offer cloakroom/baggage store facilities.

● Be ready for cashless payments.

NHS Covid-19 Test and Trace app

Visitors are encouraged to download the NIIS Covid-19 Test and Trace app prior to arrival at Shakespeare's Birthplace and "check-in" by scanning the QR code available at the ticket desk and entrance to the shop.

3 . The Musee du Louvre

Formerly a royal palace, the Louvre has the history of France for eight centuries. Intended as a universal museum since its opening in 1793, its collections-among the finest in the world-span several thousands of years and a territory that extends from America to Asia. Divided among eight departments, these collections feature works admired throughout the globe, including the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Venus de Milo. The Louvre is currently the world’s most visited museum.

Monday: 9a.m.-6p.m.

Tuesday: Closed.

Wednesday: 9 a.m.-9:45 p.m.

Thursday: 9a.m.-6 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m.-9:45 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Rooms begin closing at 5: 30 p.m., and at 9:30 p.m. on night openings.


Admission ticket for individual visitor

Admission and reservation for access to the permanent collections, the temporary exhibitions except for A Dream of Italy exhibition, and the Eugene-Delacroix Museum. Free admission with no ticket for: under-18s, people with disabilities and the person accompanying them, and people on income support. Tickets are valid on the day of booking only and the price of the ticket is £17 each. Audio guide booking charges £5 each.


Group tickets

Groups formed of 7 to 25 people must buy a ticket of a right of visit as a group in addition to an admission that equals to the number of the paying participants of the group. These tickets must be presented by the group leader the day of the visit. The admission ticket for participants can be purchased until the scheduled time of the right of visit, at the latest.
