1 . 2022 Kids News Short Story competition
Kids News is starting its 2022 Kids News Short Story competition and wants to read all your wonderful stories. Kids News editor(编辑)Kamahl Cogdon encouraged all kids to enter and get all their creative stories down on paper.
"Last year we received almost 2,000 entries and the stories were great," Ms Cogdon said." We have some very creative young minds across Australia and we are looking forward to reading more of their fantastic stories this year."
How to enter
◎Entry to the competition is free for children from Kindergarten to Year 9 studying in an Australian school. One entry per person.
◎All entrants(参赛者)must get permission(许可)from their schools and parents before entering this competition.
◎Entrants can choose any topic they want.
◎Entries must be submitted(提交)through the online competition form located at www.kidsnews.com.au.
◎The competition starts at 9 am on Wednesday, May 11,2022,and ends at 5 pm on Sunday, July 3,2022.
Age categories:
Kindergarten to Year 2:entry must be between 250 and 750 words.
Years 3–4:entry must be between 250 and 750 words.
Years 5–6:entry must be between 500 and 1,000 words.
Years 7–9:entry must be between 500 and 1,000 words.

2 . A walking tour in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
Rocky Mountain National Park covers about 41square miles with dozens of mountain peaks. More than 250 species of birds will delight your senses and more than 900 types of wildflowers will keep you marveling(感到惊奇) at their beauty.
Your Colorado walking tour officially begins. To ensure that you arrive on time we strongly suggest that you arrive one day before the departure date.
Day 1 The trip begins at 1: 00 p. m. Travel by bus to Rocky Mountain National Park. Check in our accommodations, enjoy a fresh lunch and head into the park for our first hike.
Day 2 During today’s hike we will cover 3.8 miles. We’ll stop to enjoy both “The Pool” and Fern Falls on our way to Fern Lake. You’ll enjoy every minute of today’s hike and then spend a relaxing evening in the town of Estes Park.
Day 3 Glacier Gorge, the main section of the Park, has some of the most beautiful attractions in the Park. Today we’ll push our boots up the trail to Black Lake, about 4.7 miles. With views of Longs Peak, we’ll hike past a major waterfall and several smaller lakes before arriving at Black Lake.
Day 4 Today we’ll head to Wild Basin, southeast of the main park area, for a hike to Ouzel Lake. Wild Basin traverses(穿过) through Aspen forest past rushing streams, to a high mountain lake where we will enjoy a picnic lunch.
Day 5 The Flat Top Mountain area will delight your senses with thick forests and meadows of abundant wildflowers. Our feet will carry us for about 8.8 miles.
Day 6 Catch the Estes Park Shuttle to Denver International Airport or continue on your own to other adventures!

This program is planned for teenagers who have special needs with the goal of meeting within a community with other peers (同龄人). Sibshops is a program for siblings (兄弟姊妹) of children with challenges. It includes group activities and talk treatment ways with the focus on improving sibling relationships and whole family happiness. Location: Hope Church, Wilton CT. Wednesday: 4:00-5:00 pm.

Banana Splits
Banana Splits is an educational support group for children in family trouble. Children aged 9-13 will have the opportunity to meet other children whose parents have separated or divorced, learn to recognize feelings, think of healthy coping skills and have a place to share their struggles through verbal (语言的), physical, and artistic experiences. Location: Hope Church, Wilton CT. Tuesday: 4:30-5:30 pm.
