1 . World Learning (WL) Youth Programs bring international high school age youth to the US for short-term leadership programs and exchanges to develop their meaningful and memorable learning experiences. We have more than 1, 000 youth participants on over 20 programs each year.
WL Youth Programs seek leaders who are responsible for working with young people and leading high school exchange programs. Leaders deliver educational content and are knowledgeable in the design and delivery of active workshops. Leaders also represent WL in US domestic host communities, and at times overseas, and manage partner relationships with integrity and professionalism.

2 . The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum is an annual initiative of the President of the Council. It has developed into a key platform where young people can contribute to policy discussions at the United Nations (UN). This year’s Youth Forum will take place from 25 to 27 April, 2023.
·Objectives
The Forum aims to engage young people in a dialogue with Member States, policymakers and other actors to voice their views and inspire actions on how to transform the world into a better place guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to the preparatory process of the SDG Summit.
The 2023 Forum will address the theme on speeding up the recovery from the COVID-19 and the full implementation (实施) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It will also review progress in the areas of affordable and clean energy, and sustainable cities and communities, ete.
· Format
The three-day event will feature plenary (全体出席的) sessions and regionally based discussions, with the last day designed for the preparation of the 2023 SDG Summit. Talented youth speakers will deliver short presentations in between sessions.
Participation in the Forum is by invitation only. The youth participants are selected by National Youth Councils, regional youth organizations, etc.
The event will be held in a mixed way allowing for opportunities for in-person and virtual participation. Participants will also be able to ask questions via social media.

3 . Summer of KidsPost 2022 continues with our readers sharing their summer vacation adventures. This week’s edition features national parks and an old railroad tunnel (隧道).
Moubon Kurukumbi, 13, and Masoom Kurukumbi, 10, of Fairfax visited Washington state. They hiked in three national parks: North Cascades, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park. While on Hurricane Ridge Mountain in Olympic National Park, Moubon and Masoom were approached by several black-tailed deer. Nathan Howard, 8, of Ashburn visited the Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee. Nathan hiked, played in streams and saw two bears. He is a junior ranger and wants to be a ranger to look after the Smoky Mountains National Park when he grows up. Bella Lamb, 13, Ari Lamb, 8, of Virginia Beach, and Violet Lamb, 9, of Centreville visited the Claudius Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel in Rockfish Gap, Virginia. The historic railroad tunnel was built in the 1850s. They walked through the tunnel with flashlights while enjoying the cooler temperatures. |

Open Farm Day on Prince Edward Island SUMMERSIDE ---- Twenty-six Prince Edward Island farms will open their gates to the public on Sunday, October 16, for Open Farm Day. “Open Farm Day provides the public with a chance to meet local farmers, see life on the farm, and find out how local food is produced,” said Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz. “It’s a great way for families to learn how Canadian farmers produce some of the highest-quality food in the world.” The agriculture industry plays an important role in creating jobs and keeping the economy strong. Canada is the world’s fifth largest exporter of agriculture and food products, with exports hitting an all-time high of more than $40 billion, “Open Farm Day is a great chance for Islanders and visitors to learn more about the provinces number one industry and the important role it plays in our society,” said Prince Edward Islands Minister of Agriculture and Forestey, George Webster. “People will have a chance to see what life is like on a modern farm operation, which helps to build awareness and an understanding of Islanders who make their living by producing high-quality food.” The agriculture and food industry is the leading industry in Prince Edward Island. In 2011, annual farm cash receipts came to $474 million. A total of 125 farms in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick are participating in this yearns Open Farm Day.
