The Xi’an Forest of Stone Tablets, initially set up in the 1087, was official named in the Qing Dynasty. It is an art treasure house where is composed of more than 3,000 stone tablets from the Han Dynasty through the Qing Dynasty. The museum is naming “Forest of Stone Tablets” because the numerous stone tablets housing in the museum look like a dense forest. The museum was a treasure house of ancient Chinese calligraphy as well as a good collection of historical documents and stone carvings in various styles. Moreover, the tablets bear evidences to the cultural exchanges in ancient China and show the great achievements of that period.
