Chinese brush calligraphy is one of the most important art form in China.
It origin is unknown, but local tales say it goes back over 4000 years to the time of Yellow Emperor, when characters carved on animal bones or tortoise shells. Then Qin Shi Huang united China and set regular rules for Chinese characters, making it easier for people to learn. Later cursive script (草书) appeared. It is written freely, but it’s not easy to be read.
Today it’s once again the subject in schools and an art form high appreciated across the world. Anyone can practise it and that is required is a simple set including a brush, ink, or paper. Practise this art consistently can develop personal character and is of great beneficial to health.

I think teenagers in China should have a specially festival that I would call it Teenager Volunteer Day. As is known to all, most teenagers in China are brought up as a only child in the family. They usually given too many care and attention. Through volunteering, teenagers may learn to think of others and many other important life lesson. In Teenager Volunteer Day, teenagers are encouraged to volunteer wherever you are needed. They may help to raise money for people which suffer from a serious disease, go to a home for the aged to do what is good for old people, or collecting books for children in poor areas.
China and Western country may have different cultural beliefs about certain animals. But when it comes to pigs, we somehow reach an agreement that pigs are lazy, ugly, stupidly and shameless. Neither of these words describing pigs are exactly positive. Moreover, the truth is what pigs have some good qualities. And there’s probably no good time to clear their names than now, with the arrival of the Year of the Pig on Chinese Spring Festival, which fell February 5 this year. According to a paper publishing in 2017, pigs can tell between those who treat them well or those who don’t. Perhaps these are the qualities of pigs to keep it in mind-their intelligence, cuteness and patience.

Dear Ms Jenkins,
I’m Li Hua, a Senior 3 student from No. 5 Secondary School. I would like to offer my apology for unable to teach you to make Chinese knot this Saturday.
The reason is that I have got a cold, but the doctor suggests that I must lie in bed for one week or so. But don’t worry. I had asked a friend of mine, Han Meimei, to go here instead. He is very experienced in making Chinese knots. She will drop on at your apartment at 9:00 this Saturday morning.
Please allowing me to say sorry again. I have the confidence what you can learn how to make Chinese knots. Wish you a good time!
Yours,
Li Hua
