Have you ever gone to a music festival? During a summer holiday in Hungary, I went to attend my the first music festival. It was really an excitement to us! Since 2002 the Sziget Festival had been running every year in Budapest. It lasts for a week, which famous singers and bands from around the world perform very brilliant. In Hungarian the word ‘sziget’ mean island, which is a very appropriate name although the festival takes place on a large island in the middle of the Danube River in Budapest. Thousands people come on special “party trains” from other country such as France and Italy.

3 . 阅读下列短文 ,从每题所给的四个选项 (A、B、C、和D)中 ,选出最佳选项。
What is time? Is it a thing to be saved or spent or wasted, like money? Or is it something we have no control over, like the weather? Is time the same all over the world?
That's an easy question, you say. Wherever you go, a minute is 60 seconds, an hour is 60 minutes, a day is 24 hours, and so forth. But in America, time is more than that. Americans see time as a valuable resource. Maybe that's why they are fond of the expression, "Time is money."
Because Americans believe time is a limited resource, they try to conserve and manage it. People in the U.S. often attend seminars or read books on time management. It seems they all want to organize their time better. Professionals carry around pocket planners — some in electronic form — to keep track of appointments and deadlines. People do all they can to squeeze more time out of their time. The early American hero Benjamin Franklin expressed this view best: "Do you love life? Then do not waste time, for that is the stuff life is made of."
To Americans, punctuality is a way of showing respect for other people's time. Being more than 10 minutes late to an appointment usually calls for an apology and an explanation. People who are running late often call ahead to let others know of the delay. Of course, the less formal the situation is, the less important it is to be exactly on time. At informal get-togethers, for example, people often arrive as much as 30 minutes past the appointed time.
To outsiders, Americans seem tied to the clock. People in other cultures value relationships more than schedules. In these societies, people don't try to control time, but to experience it. Even Americans would admit that no one can master time. Time — like money — slips all too easily through our fingers. And time — like the weather — is very hard to predict. Nevertheless, time is one of life's most precious gifts. And unwrapping it is half the fun.
1. What’s the main topic of this passage?
A.What is time?B.Time among Americans.
C.Make good use of time.D.How to control time?
2. What’s the meaning of the underlined word “conserve”?
A.protectB.develop
C.produceD.assist
3. The sentence "Americans seem tied to the clock" in paragraph 5 probably means ________.
A.Americans often carry a clock with them.
B.Americans can take control over time.
C.Americans often make full use of time.
D.Americans can not predict the time.
4. We can safely draw a conclusion from this passage that _________.
A.Americans have more time than others
B.by using pocket planners, people can have more time
C.for informal meeting, Americans often arrive 30 minutes earlier
D.Americans often attend seminars, because they want to use time better

It is Mother’s Day today. Though it’s a western festival, it’s popular in China now.

Mom has a full-time job, so she has to do most of the houseworks. She is a great mother. Both Dad or I planned to do something on Mother’s Day. We get up early in the morning. Dad cleaned the house, and then went on shopping. When he came back, I found a bunch of flowers in her hand. I asked Mom to stay in the sitting room and I cooked in kitchen. The dishes what I cooked were Mom’s favoritest. At dinner, we said to her, “Happy Mother’s Day!” Mom was grateful and moving.

5 . In the depths of the French Guianese rainforest, there still remain unusual groups of indigenous(土著的) people. Surprisingly, these people live largely by their own laws and their own social customs. And yet, people in this area are in fact French citizens because it has been a colony of the French Republic since 1946. In theory, they should live by the French law. However, their remote locations mean that the French law is often ignored or unknown, thus making them into an interesting area of “lawlessness” in the world.

The lives of these people have finally been recorded thanks to the effects of a Frenchman from Paris called Gin. Gin spent five months in early 2015 exploring the most remote corners of this area, which sits on the edge of the Amazon rainforest, with half its population of only 250,000 living in its capital, Cayenne.

“I have a special love for the French Guianese people. I have worked there on and off for almost ten years,” says Gin. “I’ve been able to keep firm friendships with them. Thus I have been allowed to gain access to their living environment. I don’t see it as a lawless land. But rather I see it as an area of freedom.”

“I wanted to show the audience a photographic record touching upon the uncivilized life,” continues Gin. “I prefer to work in black and white, which allows me to show different specific worlds more clearly.”

His black-and-white pictures present a world almost lost in time. These pictures show people seemingly pushed into a world that they were unprepared for. These local citizens now have to balance their traditional self-supporting hunting lifestyle with the lifestyle offered by the modern French Republic, which brings with it not only necessary state welfare, but also alcoholism, betrayal and even suicide.

1. Why does the author feel surprised about the indigenous people in French Guiana?
A.They seldom   follow the French law.
B.They often ignore the Cuianese   law.
C.They are separated   the modern world.
D.They are both Cuianese and French citizens.
2. Gin introduced the special world of the indigenous Guiana     as       .
A.a tour guideB.a geographer
C.a film directorD.a photographer
3. What is Gin's attitude towards the lives of indigenous Guianese?
A.Cautious.B.Doubtful.
C.UninterestedD.Apprecitive.
4. What       does the underlined        word “it” in the last paragraph refer to?
A.The modera Frrnch       lifestyle.B.The self-supporting hunting.
C.The uncivilized world.D.The French Republic.

6 . In a society such as the United States or Canada, which has many national, religious and cultural differences, people highly value individualism--the differences among people. Teachers place a lot of importance on the qualities that make each student special. The educational systems in these countries show these values. Students do not memorize all possible basic knowledge. Instead, they work individually and find answers by themselves. There is often discussion in the classroom. At an early age, students learn to form their own ideas and opinions.
In most Asia societies, by contrast, the people have the same language, history and culture. Perhaps for this reason, the educational system in much of the orient reflects society’s belief in group goals and purposes rather than individualism. Children in China, Japan and Korea often work together and help one another on assignments.
There are advantages and disadvantages of both systems of education. For example, one advantage of the system in Japan is that students there learn much more about math, physics, biology and chemistry than American students by the end of high school. They also study more hours each day and more days each year than North Americans do. The system is difficult, but it prepares students for a society that values discipline and self-control. There is, however, a disadvantage. Memorization is an important learning method in Japanese schools, yet many students say that after an exam, they forget much of the information that they have memorized.
The advantage of the educational system in North America, on the other hand, is that students learn to think for themselves. The system prepares them for a society that values creative ideas. There is, however, a disadvantage. When students graduate from school, they haven’t memorized as many basic rules and facts as students in other countries have.
1. The writer’s purpose of writing this passage is      .
A.to share his idea with others in a new way
B.to introduce two different systems of education through contrast
C.to criticize the society that values memorization
D.to prepare students for society
2. Which is NOT true according to the passage?
A.The system of education in the West is more creative than that in the East
B.Japanese students learn much more about science than American students.
C.Canadian students are more individual than Korean students.
D.Students in North America are not so friendly as those in Asia.
3. From the facts, we can infer that            .
A.Asian students are more likely to do better in teamwork than American students
B.Chinese students are more hard-working in their studies than Mexican students
C.the Western educational system is much better than the Eastern educational system.
D.the Eastern educational system is as difficult as the Western educational system.
4. What is the best title for the passage?
A.Advantages and Disadvantages of Educational System.
B.The Value of Individualism.
C.Educational System-an Obvious Difference between the East and the West.
D.Memorization-an Important Learning Method.
