文章大意:这是一篇应用文。文章主要介绍了几个国家的著名景点。

4 . Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan, located on the Silk Road in South Asia, claimed the No. 1 spot partly for its majestic beauty and because it is set to become the first fully organic nation by 2020.

The kingdom has subtropical plains in the south with thickly growing grass and plants and sub-alpine Himalayan mountains in the north, which include Gangkhar Puensum, Bhutan’s highest peak and believed to be the highest unclimbed mountain in the world.

England

While tourists may flock to Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, Lonely Planet suggests visitors should travel to England’s coastal towns instead. The English seaside gives locals and visitors the chance to search for marine life in rock pools, find fossils in cliffs — and of course, eat fish and chips.

In 2021, new sections of the England Coast Path will continue to open, making it easier to explore the country’s coastline.

North Macedonia

If you want an alternative to Europe’s more popular travel spots, North Macedonia could be for you.

Its mountain trails are “blissfully quiet,” the locals are “unfailingly helpful,” according to Lonely Planet. Among its destinations is Ohrid, a charming, old town dotted with medieval ruins and churches, lined with cobblestone streets, and overlooking Lake Ohrid.

Liberia

In Liberia, travelers will find Sapo National Park, one of West Africa’s best national parks. In the dense forests there, you stand a chance of running into chimpanzees, forest elephants and Liberia’s famous pygmy hippos — no larger than a Shetland pony.

Morocco

The Kingdom of Morocco, known as the place the sun sets, is a romantic and exotic destination, and it’s known as a safe place to visit. Many people are drawn to its beaches, but its ancient cities, such as Casablanca and Marrakesh, attract the most visitors. In recent years, visitors have headed to the Atlas and Rif mountains and their hiking trails.

1. What is probably the most challenging destination for climbers?
A.Ohrid in North Macedonia.
B.Buckingham Palace in Britain.
C.Gangkhar Puensum in Bhutan.
D.Sapo National Park in Liberia.
2. Where can tourists go if they have interest in wild animals?

文章大意:这是一篇应用文。作者向读者介绍去巴塔哥尼亚( Patagonia)最值得一游的一些地方。

6 . If you’re traveling to South America in summer, you should have Patagonia (at the southern end of South America) high up on your list of things to do. With this list, I show you the best places to visit in Patagonia. The climate down there is pretty rough, especially in the very south - if you plan to do hiking or camping, the best time for a trip is between the end of November and the beginning of March.

1. Bariloche, Argentina

The fact that Bariloche is well connected (airport, direct bus to and from Buenos Aires) makes it the perfect starting point of a round trip through Patagonia. But more than that: the combination of mountains, lakes and green forests results in its beautiful scenery.

2. Futaleufú, Chile

Further down south and a bit harder to access is the small Chilean village Futaleufú which is located at the border to Argentina. The reason which makes it worth it: the Futaleufú River is often referred to as one of the best white water spots for rafting in the world. The landscape along the river is unique and, due to its location, still pretty much untouched.

3. Puerto Rio Tranquilo, Chile

If you want to get there quickly, you should travel through Argentina and cross over to Chile Chico as this place is also very remote. The reason to do so: the marble caves in the General Carrera lake.

4. Torres del Paine, Chile

Personally the national park Torres del Paine is my number 1 attraction in Patagonia - you should take some time and do a multi-day trek to experience as much of it as possible: glaciers, forests, impressive mountain ranges, lagoons and rivers.

1. What is the best time for hiking in Patagonia?
A.October 1—November 1B.December 25—January 15
C.March 5—April 1D.November 5—June 7
2. Which of the following about the Futaleufú River is true?
A.It lies in an easily accessible village.B.It is ignored due to rafting sports.
C.It is the best rafting river in the world.D.It still has untouched landscapes.
3. Which place attracts the author most in Patagonia?
A.Bariloche.B.Futaleufú.
C.Puerto Rio Tranquilo.D.Torres del Paine.

7 . Whether from the looks or their functions, some buildings of Europe are seen as strange landmarks and attract visitors from the world.

UFO Bridge(Bratislava, Slovakia)

The space-age silver disc, with a bar and a restaurant, studs opposite the ancient Bratislava Castle and offers splendid views of the Old Town's roofs. While UFO has never been an issue, the special capsule does have the ability to predict the weather, shining different colors each night lo let the city know whether it will be rainy, cloudy, sunny or windy the next day.

Happy Rizzi House(Brunswick, Germany)

A strange landmark is the Happy Rizzi House in Brunswick, Germany. Its bright and colorful cartoons and wonky(歪斜的) frame certainly stand out from the traditional buildings that surround the structure. Pop-artist James Rizzi, who built the house, intended the landmark to celebrate how children see the world and express themselves freely.

Crooked House(Sopot, Poland)

Looking at the contorted(歪曲的) building can feel like you have entered the house of mirrors or put on a pair of strange glasses. Inspired by Polish fairy tales, the structure is home to shops, restaurants and even a radio station.

Office Center 1000(Kaunas, Lithuania )

Novel and oversized cheques are one thing, but a massive banknote built into a ten-storey building is much more impressive and weird. Located in Lithuania's accession to Europe Union, the Office Center 1000 building in Kaunas is made up of 4500 glass panels that form the image of a now-missing 1000 Lithuanian Litas banknote.

If you have interest in more information of these places, you can contact us through our website.

1. Which of the following places can offer information about weather?

8 . My guide Farah, a tall, slim woman in her late 30s, wears jeans and a simple manteau. In public, wearing this robe(长袍),covering neck to knee is a must for women in Iran. Her long, straight black hair is hidden beneath her headscarf.

We're heading to Tajrish Bazaar in north Tehran, to explore ten different kinds of dried plums and other goodies. We choose the Metro- Farah for its convenience, and I, for a chance to go underground in the capital of Iran, because it provides a picture of the city most tourists never see.

Women and men sit separately on the train, but the rule is relaxed during busy times, like now. We, along with a few other women, clasp(握紧)our hands around a pole, standing next to men, young and old. Two stops later, and about 20 commuters(通勤者)fewer, segregation happens naturally-women at one and,men at the other, still within view, but separate.

A handful of fashionable girls admire their own reflections in the window. They wear tight leggings under their brightly colored robes, pushing back headscarves and boundaries. We find seats next to a group of conservative women dressed in black cloaks(斗篷)called chador. They are nothing like the other women I have met, most of them liberal.

"We're a nation with one language," Farah says, “divided in two-traditional and modern."She tells me that it' all began, not with imports from the West, but with the 1979 revolution. A combination of education and a bad economy created a society where women now have independence, careers, and husbands feel obliged to help with household chores.

1. Why did the author choose to take the Metro?
A.Because it was accessible and convenient.
B.Because she would see a more realistic city.
C.Because she could sit separately on the train.
D.Because she would travel markets for goodies.
2. When did the author most probably set out for Tajrish Bazaar?
A.In rush hours.B.At dawn.C.At midday.D.At midnight.
3. What does the underlined word in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A.Conflict.B.Isolation.C.Combination.D.Discrimination.
4. What can be inferred from the article?
A.Iranian girls can dress as freely as they like.
B.Iran has strict rules for seating arrangements.
C.Iranian men never offer help with housework.
D.Wearing a robe is a daily routine of Iranian women.
