The new site of the National Natural History Museum was unveiled (揭牌) in Beijing on June 5, 2023. It     1     ( locate) along the southern part of Beijing’s central line. It covers about 57, 700 square meters,     2     (double) the size of its original site. Formerly     3     (know) as the Beijing Museum of National History, the museum was opened to the public in January 1959. Being the first large -scale museum of natural history founded on     4     (we) own strength after the liberation, the museum bears three main functions: the specimen collection, the academic research and the science popularization of zoology, botany and anthropology. The museum today,     5     has been one of a few     6     (museum) of natural history in China, boasts its rich collections, high- -level research and ever-enlarging exhibitions. It also has been named     7       National Youth Science and Technology Education Base. It has been     8     unique attraction, receiving 1.8 million visits every year. It now holds a collection of more than 372,000 historical and contemporary artifacts. Dress code in churches: shoulders covered and modest dress length for women, while for men vests and really short shorts are frowned on- -though these rules are only strictly enforced in major churches like St. Peter’s.

Known for its beautiful scenery, Mount Wuyi is the only place in the country     1     is home to Wuyi rock tea.

With tea farming dating back over 1,000 years, the mountain’s tea industry has a rich history. The area     2     (provide) tea for people at home and abroad since the first century CE, and in the     3     (eighteen) century, Wuyi rock tea was the most popular tea in Europe. However, its     4     (popular) was gained at the cost of the local environment. Illegal land reclamation (开垦) of tea mountains and the destruction (破坏) of plant resources have occurred frequently,     5     (damage) the environment in the area around Mount Wuyi.

In the remote mountains and primary forests, many visitors wish to encounter the legendary yeren (wild man), also called Bigfoot.     1     Instead, they are attracted by Shennongjia’s rich biodiversity and karst (喀斯特地形) land forms.

    2     Tourists can enjoy flower blossoms in spring, be shaded from the summer heat, appreciate red leaves in autumn and go skiing in winter.

Visitors can hike in the forest.     3     An early rise by visitors may be rewarded with an extremely attractive view of a sea of clouds beneath.

The natural beauty of karst landforms is everywhere. There are waterfalls, pools and a 56-ft-high arch that resembles a bridge crafted by nature after centuries of rain erosion.     4     Located in the southeast region of Shennongjia, it is the largest and highest wetland in central China. The Dajiuhu Lake is surrounded by mountains, where a total of nine different lakes are connected by a flowing stream. The nine lakes pose the Dajiuhu Lake, which means “nine big lakes” in Chinese.

Shen Nong’s first top is attractive to people who like climbing. The highest elevation of 2,950 meters has a wonderful reputation, also Shennongjia major scenic areas.     5    

Tourists may come across an area in which golden snub-nosed monkeys that are ill or injured are treated before they go back into the forest.

6 . Peru is one of the most popular countries in South America, mostly thanks to its Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu. There is much more to see and do in Peru if you’re willing to get out there and explore.     1     You don’t need a lot of money to visit here. Here are a few ways to cut down your costs in Peru.

Stay at hospedajes.     2     They offer personalized service to guests. Try to stay in these as often as possible.

Take public transportation. Embrace public transportation to get around — it’s super affordable so skip the taxis. You’ll save a fortune.

Travel off-season. For a low-cost trip, the best times to visit Peru are the months of April and May or September and October.     3    

Take the colectivos. These are cheap buses that cost around 2-10 PEN for a ride.     4    But there is always a door person whom you can ask if the bus is going to your location. There are not always marked bus stops, so look for gathering crowds.

Bring a water bottle. The tap water here isn’t safe to drink so bring a reusable water bottle with a filter to save money and reduce your plastic use.

10 . There are so many beautiful places in the world that wait for you to explore, but some of them won’t wait around forever.

The Dead Sea, for example, known for being one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world is in danger of disappearing. Tourists are in the rush to the lake to float（漂浮）in its waters and put its mineral-rich mud on their skin. However, the water level has been dropping more than three feet per year in recent years. In fact, if nothing is done by 2050, it will be too late.

Madagascar’s rainforests could also be gone in about 30 years. They once covered 120,000 square miles, but due to logging（伐木）and forest fires, only 20,000 square miles remain today. This is sad for many animals that call Madagascar home. About 80 percent of the species（物种） that live there can’t be found anywhere else in the world, and there are even many more yet to be discovered.

There are also many man-made places of interest with long history around the world that are at risk of disappearing. One of these is Machu Picchu. A trip to these Inca ruins is on many people’s plan lists. However, Machu Picchu has been in danger, too. If steps are not taken to protect the ancient site, it could be gone in the near future.

Another place in danger is the Great Wall of China. Around one-third of the wall, built over centuries and completed in the Ming dynasty, is already gone. Wind and rain have weathered it and plants that grow in the wall have weakened it further. Also, poor villagers have stolen its bricks in order to sell them or build homes with them.

It’s hard to believe that so many amazing places could soon be gone for good. If you have your heart set on visiting any of these places, pack your bags and get to them before time runs out!
