2 . Have you ever looked at a beautiful little house in London and thought “it must be so amazing to live there.”But for the people who actually do live in those homes, social media photography has changed what it means to live in a picturesque place.
Alice Johnston is a resident of Noting Hill, the London neighbourhood famous for colorfully- painted row houses and for being a Hollywood movie set. There can be a dark side to living inside it. She has witnessed all kinds of crazy behavior for the perfect snapshot (快照). Johnston was once woken up at 6 a.m, on Easter Sunday by French teenagers taking pictures outside. Another time she was changing when an elderly man took a picture of her windows. Although the shutters (百叶窗) were closed at the time, she was shocked by the experience.
When private homes become tourist attractions, conflicts can occur. In Hong Kong, the Monster Building became a huge selfie spot after it was featured in Transformers: Age of Extinction, A sign in English and Chinese put up by building residents reads “This is a private estate. All kinds of activities are not allowed, including but not limited to photographing, gatherings, use of drones (无人机) and yelling. We shall not take responsibility for personal injury caused by any accident. ”However, many visitors ignore the signs, and a quick scan of Instagram shows plenty of recent images taken there.
A pale-pink house near where Johnston lives has become such a popular photo site that the residents have given up on trying to keep people away. Instead, they’ve put up a donation box asking people to contribute money to charity in exchange for taking a photo.

3 . Bioluminescence (生物荧光) is to California as the Aurora Borealis is to the Arctic. These events occur when single-celled organisms, known as dinoflagellates (甲藻), suddenly give off a kind of light after being disturbed. They’re most common in spring and into summer, especially during years with a combination of good rains and warm weather. Here are a few tips to help you witness bioluminescence:
Monitor Social Media
The first reports of a bioluminescence event are likely to show upon Instagram and Twitter, which are easily searchable. You can also setup a warning on Google that will round up news coverage.
Check With Aquariums
Such institutions as the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla, the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey might post updates on their websites or social media feeds, especially if bioluminescence is happening locally.
Find a Dark Location
If bioluminescence is ongoing, try to find a stretch of coast that’s as far away from light as possible. Get out before the moon rises for the best conditions and some experts also suggest that two hours after sunset is a good bet Give your eyes time to adjust and use your flashlight’s red light, which will keep your vision adjusted to the darkness.
Track Hotspots
The best displays can vary from night tonight, so check again on social media for updates. The environmental website Treehugger named San Diego one of the world’s eight best places to see bioluminescence. Meanwhile, north of San Francisco at Point Reyes National Seashore, To males Bay is a dependable spot for bioluminescence and you can go out on guided trips with Blue Waters Kayaking.

6 . Looking for a true out-of-this-world vacation? Then you are in luck! Texas-based start-up Orion Span announced they were taking reservations for Aurora (极光) Station, the world’s first luxury hotel in space.
The pill-shaped space station will measure 43.5 feet long and 14.1 feet wide—about the size of a large private jet’s cabin—when completed. It will accommodate four guests in two private suites and two crew members, most likely former astronauts. Hovering about 200 miles above the Earth, Aurora Station will circle the planet once every 90 minutes, enabling guests to enjoy 16 spectacular sunrises and sunsets daily, as well as scores of the breathtaking northern and southern auroras that the hotel is named after.
While admiring the beauty of our planet, tourists can have non-astronaut food and drinks or entertain themselves with playing cards. Those hoping to do something more worthwhile will be able to engage in astronaut-like experiments such as growing food in a special environment. The Wi-Fi-enabled spacecraft will make it easy for guests to share their experiences with friends and family members on Earth. At the end of the week and half-long vacation, returning guests will be treated to a special “hero’s welcome”, similar to the one experienced by astronauts returning from a real mission.
Before the once-in-a-lifetime trip, guests will have to undergo a three-month special training learning how to move in a weightless environment, along with the basics of space flight and orbital mechanics. Also, before you start packing your bags, you will have to pay $9.5 million for the 12-day round-trip vacation.
While several companies are planning to build hotels in space, Orion Span hopes to transform sections of used rockets floating in space into hotel rooms, instead of crowding the already messy skies with additional man-made objects.

7 . Around the globe, sometimes in the most unexpected places, a handful of towns and villages stand out from the crowd, drawing the world’s attention and attracting thousands of visitors every year.
Bo-Kaap, South Africa
The ancestors of the residents of Bo-Kaap are mostly from Africa, Java, Indonesia, Malaysia and other parts of Asia. These diverse cultures contributed much to the interesting architecture of the town and the houses are repainted in rainbow colours each year, with neighbours conferring to avoid a clash.
Tobermory, Scotland
One of the most biodiverse areas in Europe, many nature lovers are attracted to the island but Tobermory is perhaps best known for the brightly painted houses and buildings that line the waterfront.
Wroclaw, Poland
The old town of Wroclaw, Poland, has a complicated history. For decades as Europe warred around it, the city became in turn the province of Germany, Prussia and Austria. Now the town’s new Municipal Stadium, built for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, is covered with glass fibre mesh coated in Teflon, which can have any colour projected on it to reflect the mood of the event.
Patidad, India
In 2009, a small village called Patidad in Gujarat, western India, underwent a radical colour overhaul when a prominent local family decided absolutely everything should be painted pink. Qujiang New District in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, charmed tourists with a new attraction themed on TV serial The Longest Day in Chang’an. It offers visitors a chance to “travel back in time” and experience a day in the life of people living in the Tang Dynasty(618-907). Xi’an, known as Chang’an back then, was the imperial(皇帝的)capital.
The World Rural Tourist Town in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, staged a cultural festival with a silk and Song Dynasty(960-1279)theme. During the first three days of the holiday, the place received nearly 30,000 visits, putting it into a Tik-Tok list of the 10 most sought—after Huzhou attractions.
The Jizhou Kiln scenic area in Jiangxi province held a tourism festival with a Song Dynasty theme. Tourists, wearing period costumes and makeup, tried their hand at the ancient Chinese game of touhu—throwing arrows into wine pitchers—and sampled yonghe tofu, one of the top 10 Jiangxi dishes.
COVID-19 has accelerated changes in consumers, who are increasingly pursuing comfortable and safe tourism products that benefit both the environment and people’s health. For tourism businesses, it’s important to highlight the cultural elements of tourism products by drawing inspiration from China’s traditional culture.
To create a more impressive experience, staff members dressed in hanfu would join the crowd and interact with the tourists by, for example, handing them flower seeds, the staff member said, adding that services such as hanfu rental and traditional makeup design are available in the park.
