文章大意:本文是一篇应用文。文章介绍的是假期中提前做准备能够克服旅行中90%的麻烦,并给出了提前准备假期旅行的几个建议。

1 . Vacation often starts with a wonderful idea.     1     With a little bit of preparation and effort, travelers can overcome 90% of the difficulties they may face during a trip. Here are useful tips on how to plan a trip.

Picking the right destination according to the season is a key factor in planning a trip successfully.     2     Usually, the ideal season to visit beaches, mountains and forests is completely different. Also take the cost factor into consideration. Going to a luxury destination during the shoulder season can result in some good discounts on hotels and flights.

Another key aspect of a good trip planning is to correctly estimate the number of days required.     3     Some travelers like to see new cities every day, whereas some prefer taking it slow. You’d better leave an empty day in travel plans in which there are more than 7 days so that things like terrible weather won’t mess up the whole arrangement.

4     Prices of flights and accommodations rise over time if you are planning for a vacation that falls during the peak season of that particular destination. So making a reservation a few months in advance will help you avoid additional costs.

Pack wisely and do necessary research. An extra shirt, sweater, or jumper can prove handy during trips where the weather is expected to be cold or rainy. As responsible tourists, travelers must know the destination they are visiting.     5     Because it helps them avoid conflict or disrespect to the locals.

A.Early booking is recommended.
B.Learn about the do’s and don’s.
C.Make the most of every traveling day.
D.But not everyone has a reasonable vacation plan.
E.It often depends on the travel plans and purpose.
F.Check out the best time to visit the place you like.
G.Something unexpected, however, makes it end up being a trouble.

文章大意:这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了伊斯坦布尔交通堵塞的原因。

3 . Istanbul has been around for centuries. Sure, it’s changed its name a few times over the years, but the location has always been the same. And in those years, there was no need at all for wide lanes. The term “rush hour” wasn’t even invented yet. The only traffic was an occasional horse-drawn carriage. The result is that the city center consists of very narrow streets.

All the action (nightlife, tourist attractions, etc.) is located in the city center, making people travel daily between their homes in the suburbs and their offices in downtown Istanbul. Besides, Istanbul is not only surrounded (环绕) by water, it’s also twice divided by it. The only way to get from one shore to the other is through bridges. And it is true of all bridges. They’ll get stuck easily.

On a normal dry day, morning rush hour starts as early as 7 a.m. and lasts until around 10 a.m.. After a short cool off period, traffic again starts peaking (达到高峰) from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m..

As soon as traffic jams start building up, drivers try to find alternative roads. And once found, they race through them trying to catch up on time already lost. But it doesn’t work. So they immediately turned to plan B. Make the most use of the road at hand. Lanes painted on the surface must be for decorative purposes, since you would be surprised how easily they can change a three-lane road into a five-lane one. On highways, the emergency lanes are taken, too. And of course, horns are blown as much as possible.

Of course the city’s government is making great efforts now to deal with these problems. Extra tunnels, subways, tramways and bus only lanes have been made available or are under construction. Also Electronic Detection Systems are used to detect and fine drivers who abuse the emergency lanes or drive through red traffic lights.

And although Turkish drivers are certainly not among the worst in the world, paying little attention to basic traffic rule, scrowding into the smallest space available, turning across the roads and blocking emergency lanes make traffic jams unable to be dealt with timely. They’re also part of the problem.

1. Which of the following is TRUE of Istanbul?
A.It has changed its location.
B.It has had different names.
C.The streets were busy in the past.
D.The government divided it into two parts.
2. The underlined part “plan B” in the fourth paragraph refers to “________”.
A.taking the nearest road
B.looking for another road
C.taking an emergency lane
D.driving as fast as possible
3. Which of the following is one of the causes of traffic Jams in Istanbul?
A.No emergency lanes are available.
B.There are many bridges over water.
C.Lanes painted on the surface are narrow.
D.Quite a few drivers break traffic rules.

9 . Museums become the next stop many students want to visit at their leisure.    1     However, the experience of visiting a museum could be quite disappointing if not done right, even for the experienced museumgoers.

2    . No matter how much you’re enjoying yourself, many museums can take hours, days, or even weeks to fully explore. If you try to put it all in, you will get worn out to the point that you won’t really be seeing anything. Pick a few paintings and explore them in a detailed way, and your museum experience will be more relaxing.

Have you ever started your visit by waiting in line in front of the museum for a few hours just to get in? And that’s the sad reality when visiting many of those world-famous museums. Thus, be smart to browse the instructions for visiting and book in advance online.    3    .

What if you don’t like some museums? Then don’t visit them! I’m not a massive fan of parks, so I would hardly ever end up in any park while travelling.    4    Do they have a nice collection of an art style you love? Just ask yourself and visit the museum website to see what the highlights are.

There is nothing worse than impolite manners while visiting. We’ve all witnessed that guy being yelled at by the security for touching or taking flash photos.    5    .Otherwise, not only will you absolutely get embarrassed by security guards, but you can actually ruin artworks!

文章大意:这是一篇新闻报道。文章主要讲的是穿越不丹步道的重新开通让人们去神秘不丹旅游的梦想终于成真。

10 . Bhutan is one of the world’s most mysterious(神秘的)countries. Visiting it can be challenging, but there’s a new drive to finally cross it off the bucket list in 2022, as its breathtaking Trans Bhutan Trail(小径)will be reopening to travelers for the first time in 60 years.

According to the Bhutan Canada Foundation -the main donor to the restoration project — the 250-mile route connects nine districts, 28 local governments, one national park and 400 historic and cultural sites. Travelers who follow the entire trail route will cross 18 major bridges and climb 10,000 stairs. It will be possible to walk or mountain bike there.

“This is a community-based project in both its building and operation which will restore an ancient cultural treasure and provide a sustainable, net zero carbon experience in the country for travelers,” says Sam Blyth, chair of the Bhutan Canada Foundation. “The Trans Bhutan Trail also reflects the country’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness and will allow the children of Bhutan to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors.”

The trail’s westernmost point is the town of Haa, which is near the border with Tibet, China. The eastern most point is Trashigang, near the border of India’s Arunachal Pradesh state. According to a representative for the Bhutan Canada Foundation, an ambitious walker could cover the whole trail in about a month, but most tourists will likely enjoy shorter parts of the trail on three-, four-, or seven-day trips.

Due to its “high value, low impact” tourism strategy, Bhutan averaged just a few thousand visitors in atypical year before COVID-19 occurred. As part of its aim to avoid over tourism, the country charges a mandatory(强制的)$250 per day fee, which includes land transport, accommodations, food and guide service. The cost makes it somewhat prohibitive for many people to visit. And walkers to the Trans Bhutan Trail will have to apply for a permit. They can do this beginning in April.

1. What do we know about the Trans Bhutan Trail?
A.It connects several national parks.
B.It has been left unused for decades.
C.It has been maintained by the local governments.
D.It is more popular with mountain bikers than walkers.
2. What can we infer about the trail from Sam Blyth?
A.It allows children to reflect on themselves
B.It provides a community experience for travelers
C.It teaches people to learn from their happy ancestors.
D.It builds a connection between current and past generations.
3. What can walkers to the Trans Bhutan Trail do?
A.Choose from four types of short trips.
B.Collect ancient treasures along the way.
C.Explore Haa at the trail’s easternmost point.
D.Take a month-long trip to cover the whole trail.
4. What is Bhutan’s tourism strategy?
A.Putting profits first
B.Giving fines to badly-behaved visitors
C.Developing tourism without putting nature at risk
D.Offering tourists high-quality accommodations and food.
