1 . Are you thinking about traveling alone? You must have a million questions: Where should you go? Will there be someone to talk to?
In fact, traveling alone is not as scary (吓人的) as it seems. Here are some good tips.
Choose a place where you feel comfortable and safe
Truth be told, traveling alone for the first time is more about the experience than the destination.
Make a plan
Always make a plan. That way you’ll avoid worrying too much over where you’re staying, what to see and how you’re getting from A to B.
Book hotels ahead of time
Talk to people
If you’re going to a touristy place like Thailand, there are lots of other people who are traveling alone.
Let someone know where you are
Your family and friends love you and probably worry about you every day, so text them and let them know what you are up to throughout your trip.
A.How do you stay safe? |
B.Don’t draw attention to yourself. |
C.That will make you and them feel safer. |
D.The first thing you need to do is believe in yourself. |
E.So make sure to choose a place that you feel comfortable with. |
F.Most likely, they’ll be easy to talk to and they’ll want to communicate. |
G.This can make you less nervous when you’re traveling alone for the first time. |
Last weekend, I was lucky enough

3 . Have you ever left a place knowing you have “visited” all the attractions in the guidebooks ,but feeling like you know no more about it than before you visited it? One way to make your travels more memorable is to seek out local food, people and activities.
Taste local food.
When we travel to a new environment, our senses are excited by the sounds, smells and tastes. Food is no longer just a necessity to maintain life — it's a tale and even a custom.
Stay with locals.
Go on cultural tours.
There's no better way to learn about a place than from locals. Some cities have free tours where local guides will take you on a tour of a city while sharing fascinating facts.
Context Travel, which is a small-group cultural tour led by scholars, is also a great choice.
The best way to explore a destination is on foot. The second-best way is by public transportation. When you go slow and let yourself wander, it's no longer a task to get from Point A to Point B — all the sights around you will become an unforgettable ink drawing in your mind.
A.Draw it in your mind. |
B.A hotel may be comfortable. |
C.All you have to do is tip them. |
D.Walk or take public transportation. |
E.They welcome you into their homes. |
F.By doing so, you'll learn more about a place. |
G.So stop going to the fast food chains you're familiar with. |

Cape Scott Trail, British Columbia
The new five-day, 36-mile Cape Scott Trail begins gradually. From the trailhead at Cape Scott Provincial Park, the trail follows an old settler's road along a stream. This second part of the hike is tricky, with two ladders and loose river stones to negotiate as the peak comes into view.

10 . Summer is the perfect time to relax. As you plan for your trip, here are some tips on how to protect yourself.
Fight against the mosquitoes in the hot spots.
There are many mosquito-borne illnesses in tropical regions, which are traditionally vacation hot spots. Therefore, mosquito repellent(驱蚊剂)that contains DEET should be an essential item in your travel bag.
In lesser-developed countries there is less equipment for clean water and public health. If you can't avoid unhealthful water, make sure you bring along a tea or coffee—making pot that will boil water for you. You’d better buy a case or two of water and check that all bottle caps are sealed to assure the bottled water isn't just a refilled bottle of dirty tap water.
Always protect your feet.
It's best to wear slippers in the shower, but if you must be barefoot, put a towel down on the floor.
Be sure to eat safe fruits.
Enjoy the smell of roadside stands, not the food.
Unless the food is piping hot when served, it’s best to stay away from roadside stands, no matter how good the smell of the food might be. If you are concerned about whether a restaurant is clean, order the food to go.
A.Don't trust the local water |
B.Any fruit served fresh may be polluted |
C.Look out for any water not served in a bottle |
D.The boxes may be cleaner than the plate or fork on the table |
E.You should know how to keep yourself away from dirty fruits |
