1 . I’ve always wanted to travel ever since I was young.    1    I deeply believe travel makes me richer, not in my wallet, but in my intelligence.

    2    In general, I have a very hard time trusting people, mostly because I worry they’ll lie or take advantage of me. Yet travel reminds me that so many kind-hearted, brave, and intelligent people exist in the world.

What’s more, exploring the world builds incredible self-confidence. I’m able to accept and embrace my weaknesses more easily after traveling somewhere epic (壮丽的) and having time to reflect.    3    Travel gives me a chance to push beyond them and even accept them for what they are.

Travel forces me to return to nature and promote a deeper appreciation for the earth. I breathe fresh air in both clear lakes and green mountains.    4    I’m even willing to be part of nature.

Travel has made me a stronger person, and I couldn’t imagine my life without endless plane tickets and backpacks. Breaking my comfort zone strengthens my self-pride. It‘s a precious gift, the best one I can give myself. I feel like I have a deeper appreciation for the world now. I’m not as closed off or shallow, and consider myself very receptive to different opinions and ways of life.    5    

Please Don’t Be Afraid To Travel On Your Own

You want to travel. You make an unclear plan.    1    But either way, you’re leaving in six months time. You start doing research every single night.

Of course, as this will be your first ‘real’ travel experience, you naturally prefer to travel with other people.    2    But the first friend you ask, perhaps your closest friend, turns you down and so you move on to the next friend.    3    The third friend, the fourth friend and even that guy that you don’t really like say no as well.

    4    You hope that one of your friends will change their mind and decide to join you. Maybe you decide to forget about your trip altogether, fully believing that you can only travel so far away from home with a friend or travel companion (同伴) by your side.

Don’t give up just yet. Here’s my advice to you. You may be on your own when you board that flight to Bangkok or Mexico City, but believe me, once you arrive, you’ll never actually be alone. That’s how travel works. Unless you stare at the ground and never talk to anyone, you’re going to meet people when you travel, lots and lots of people from all over the world.    5
