Travel light.    1     It’s no fun carrying a huge bag around a foreign city. Don’t take too many clothes and avoid heavy books and electrical equipment.

    2     Always keep your passport on you in an inside pocket or special travel belt. There may be thieves about. It’s a good idea to make a photocopy (复印件) of your passport and travel documents.

Transport sense. Don’t let go of your bags on the train. Keep them with you at all times. There are always thieves on public transport. If you want to sleep, tie your bag to your arm. When you take a taxi, it’s a good idea to ask for the driver’s permit. Many foreigners pay too much money because they take unofficial taxis.

    3     You should always be polite and respectful towards the locals. Even if you find their habits and behaviour a bit strange, you shouldn’t show your feelings. Remember, you’re their guest.

The air is thin and we have to rest several     1    (time) on the short hike from camp.    2    our left，snow-covered mountains disappear into clouds that seem almost close enough    3    (touch).On the plain in front of us, we can just make     4    a herd of graceful animals. This is     5    we’re here - to observe Tibetan antelopes.

Tibetan antelopes live on the plains of Tibet, Xinjiang, and Qinghai.     6    (watch) them move slowly across the green grass, I     7    (strike) by their beauty. I’m also reminded     8     the danger they are in. They are being hunted     9    (illegal), for their valuable fur.

My guide is Zhaxi,     10    villager from Changtang. He works at the Changtang National Nature Reserve. To Zhaxi the land is sacred and     11    (protect) the wildlife is a way of life.He says. “Actually,we’re trying to save     12    (we).”

The1980s and 1990s were bad times for the Tibetan antelope. The population dropped     13     more than 50 percent. Their habitats were becoming     14    (small) as new roads and railways were built

In order to save this species from     15    (extinct),the Chinese government placed     16    under national protection Zhaxi and other volunteers watched     17    the antelopes day and night to keep them safe     18    attacks. Bridges and gates were added     19     (let) the antelopes move easily and keep them safe from cars and trains.

The measures were     20    (effect). The antelope population has recovered and in June 2015, the Tibetan antelope     21    (remove) from the endangered species list. The government,however, does not intend to stop the protection programmes,     22     the threats to the Tibetan antelope have not yet disappeared.

I think about the antelopes and     23     Zhaxi told me. Much is being done to protect wildlife, but     24    we really want to save the planet, we must change our way of life. Only when we learn to exist in harmony with nature can we stop being     25     threat to wildlife and to our planet.

A visually-challenged man from Beijing recently hiked (徒步) 40 days to Xi’an, as a first step     1     (journey) the Belt and Road route (路线) by foot.

Inspired by the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation     2     (hold) in Beijing, Cao decided to cover the route by hiking as a tribute (致敬) to the ancient Silk Road.

He flew 4, 700 kilometers     3     Xi’an to Kashgar on Sept. 20,     4     (plan) to hike back to Xi’an in five months.

Every year, at the end of October, tens of thousands of people flock to a Buddhist temple in China to see a huge gingko biloba tree (银杏树) drop its foliage (枝叶) and turn     1     temple from green to gold.

The Gu Guanyin Buddhist temple, located in the Zhongnan Mountains of China’s Shaanxi Province is home     2    a 1,400-year-old gingko biloba tree.

It towers superbly over the temple,    3    for a few days every autumn, it rains down a gold carpet of leaves that stands out against the muted tones of the season.

9 . Black Valley, 63 kilometers from downtown Chongqing, is one of the best preserved natural wonders around the municipality. The national 5A-level scenic spot is a popular summer resort for sightseeing, forest adventures, outdoor camping, hunting and angling.

Located in Heishan town, Wansheng Economic Development Zone, the scenic spot spans over 103 square kilometers, 97 percent of which are covered by primitive forests. With over 110,000 negative oxygen ions in each cubic centimeter of air, it is dubbed as a natural oxygen bar and “the most beautiful healthcare-themed valley.”

Black Valley is also known as “the natural gene bank of Chongqing and Guizhou regions” for the diversity of its rare plants and wildlife, including Cathaya argyrophylla, Davidia involucrata, Trachypithecus francoisi and clouded leopards.
