After camping in the Redwood Forest and visiting the wine country of Napa Valley, I    1    (definite) felt pleased to be back in San Francisco, where there are many beautiful old buildings—man     2    ( sit ) on top of big mountains, offering great     3     (view) of the city and the ocean.

In the morning, I walked around the downtown in the Mission District, appreciating the street art and then,     4    (eat) some delicious Mexican-Chinese noodles. There is     5     real mix of cultures here.

In the afternoon, I paid a visit    6    a local museum which showed the historical changes in California. The gold rush     7     (start) by the discovery of gold near San Francisco in 1848 attracted over 300,000 people from all over the world. The museum did a good job showing how America     8    (build) by immigrants from different countries and cultures.

In the evening, I toured Chinatown,     9    there were so many nice cafes and restaurants     10    (choose) from, and enjoyed great food in a Cantonese restaurant.
