9 . The history alone creates mystery and awe from fans. The official London residence for the Queen and her family has been in existence since 1837. Queen Elizabeth II took the throne in 1953.
In the summer, the State Rooms in the palace are open to the public for tours. However, much of the Queen’s home is off limits.
It is reported that the palace to be 15 times larger than the US President’s residence. The most expensive home in Europe at an estimated 1.5 billion includes 775 rooms.
The Richest YouTube channel recently took viewers on a tour of the ultra-luxurious interior of one of the most famous residences in the world.
The Grand Staircase
The first thing visitors see when walking into the palace is a magnificent, red carpet lined staircase, added by Queen Victoria in 1898. Portraits of the royal family line the walls so visitors can view history as they make their way toward the State Rooms.
The Regency Room (摄政厅)

The 1844 Room
This room is often used to greet special guests and world leaders. With marble columns and gold mirrors, perhaps most notable is the 1820 neoclassical desk against one wall and the blue and gold chairs on either side.

The Queen also welcomes more than 30, 000 visitors to her summer garden parties, located in the back of the palace. The gardens include 350 different types of wildflowers, 200 trees and a three-acre lake on more than 39 acres.

10 . Whether you’re travelling to the islands or the mountains of Thailand, you’re likely to spend at least one night in its capital city on the way. Bangkok might be noisy and polluted but it’s also an exciting city with plenty of things to see and do. Why not make it a longer stay?
Where to stay
The Khao San Road was a famous traveller spot even before Leonardo di Caprio’s character in the film The Beach stayed there. But it’s noisy, not very pretty and not very Thai. For something more authentic, Phra Kanong offers an alternative place to stay, with its fantastic street markets where every day Bangkok people eat, work and live. It’s not as convenient for the main tourist sites as the Khao San Road, but it has a Skytrain station so you can be at the Grand Palace in 20 minutes.
How to get around
Bangkok’s traffic can be a nightmare. Sure, you can easily take a taxi --- if you want to spend hours stuck in traffic jams---but there are two much better ways to get around the city. To explore the temples and historical sites, catch an express boat river taxi or a long tail boat along the Chao Phraya river and the canals. For the modern part of the city, the Skytrain is a fast, cheap way to travel from the river to the shopping malls and nightlife of Sukhumvit and the famous Chatuchak street market.
Where to eat
The simple answer is: everywhere! Thai street food is among the best in the world, and for around $5 you can eat a filling and delicious meal. Some food stands have little plastic seats where you can sit and eat and they cook the same dish over and over, like fried chicken on rice or Pad Thai noodles. Head for Chinatown --- Yaowarat Street --- and choose whatever looks most interesting from the many excellent Chinese and Thai restaurants and food stands.
1. Where do local Thai people often go?A.Khao San Road. | B.Phra Kanong. | C.Chao Phraya. | D.Grand Palace. |
A.a taxi. | B.a bus. | C.a boat. | D.the Skytrain. |
A.One night is enough time to see Bangkok. |
B.Khao San Road is an authentic Thai area of the city. |
C.Phra Kanong is further away from the main tourist sites than Khao San Road is. |
D.You need to choose where to eat carefully, as not everywhere is good. |
