Peppa Pig Theme Park, the US

The world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park opened in February 2022 in Florida.

Devoted to the classic British animated TV show, the park welcomes guests with well-designed activities. The Daddy Pig ride takes families on a windy road in the show’s red car. They can also enjoy a dinosaur ride, and play games at the Fairground.

Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, Thailand

Thailand’s Columbia Pictures Aquaverse opened in October 2022.

The movie-themed water park features rides and experiences inspired by popular films like Zombieland. In addition to the rides, the park hosts performances at its Mega Wave Pool, where guests can hang out in the pool while enjoying movie screenings and pop concerts.

Katmandu Park, Dominican Republic

Opened in March 2023, the park is full of mystery (奥秘).

The 4D dark ride is brought to life by lighting and projection effects. Another key attraction is EtherQuest, an interactive walk-through experience. Aside from the rides, guests can also check out a sky-high ropes course, and climbing walls for younger adventurers.

Legoland Korea Resort, South Korea

Opened in May 2022, the park is designed for 2- to 12-year-olds.

This playful wonderland is devoted to all things of Lego, with more than 40 rides and attractions across seven thematic zones. Guests can get on family-friendly rides, visit Legoland Lookout for great park views, and get hands-on experience with creative workshops.

3 . If you want to travel to a unique place to see some fall leaves, you might want to visit Mt. Koya in Japan. Koyasan is home to 117 temples(寺庙). In the fall, the Japanese maple (枫树) leaves turn deep red and orange colours. Among them are the 1,200-year-old temples and halls that were designed by Kobo Daishi, the founder of Shingon Buddhism.

Visitors to Koyasan can spend the night at a temple. For dinner there is traditional Buddhist food called shojin-ryori. In the evening you can enjoy the gardens or relax in the baths before bed. The rooms have the paper doors typical of traditional Japanese buildings, often with a garden view. If you wake up early, there is a morning prayer(祈祷) at 6 a.m. and anyone can join before heading to breakfast.

In the centre of the temples is a cemetery(墓地). As you walk on the path you’ll see a deep well. The legend says that if you can see your face clearly in the water, you will live a long life. Further on there is a special stone which they say is as heavy as your crimes. You can try to lift it with one hand to see how heavy it is!

As you pass through the cemetery you will see some small stone men wearing bibs(围裙) and hats to keep them warm in the cold air. These are called Jizo, and they stay between Earth and the afterworld. They protect travellers, pregnant women, and also young children and babies before birth, during life, and after death. The reason they wear red bibs is because of their connection with the pronunciation of baby in Japanese.

Some of the monks at the temples speak English, and there are English-speaking guides who do tours of the cemetery, so you can practise your English on your trip.

Val d’Isere

Val d’Isere, linked with the neighboring Tignes, makes up Espace Killy area. Named after the famous three — time Olympic gold medalist Jean-Claude Killy who grew up skiing in the area, the Val d’Isere base sits at 6,069 feet. This altitude is paired with consistent snowfall and Europe’s largest snow-making capacity.

La Rosiere

La Rosiere is a historic mountain town sitting in the heart of the Saint Bernard Pass. Because it’s close to the Italian border, it’s often called the most Italian area in Savoy. La Rosiere is an excellent destination for middle skiers and even advanced skiers.

Les Trois Vallees

Les Trois Vallees or the Three Valleys is home to a group of interconnected ski resorts that create the largest ski area in the world. Courchevel is the largest ski resort in the area, with over 90miles of skiable trails. This area attracts all levels, with almost a third of the routes being beginner-friendly. Courchevel is also known to attract a special crowd, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Avoriaz

You can find Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil area, which makes up the second largest ski region in the country. The entire region comprises 12 resorts and over 40 miles of area that cross into Switzerland. One pass will grant you access to all the lifts in the area, making it possible to ski in two countries on the same day. Avoriaz is the snowiest resort in France and is also unique in that the resort itself is car-free! Visitors reach the resort by cable car and then get around by walking, skiing, or horse-drawn sleigh (雪橇).

Highlights and Travel Tips

The Chengdu Panda Base is a nonprofit research and breeding (繁殖) facility for giant pandas that was originally founded in 1987 and opened to the public in 1993. The center began with a population of just six giant pandas and has since grown to more than 100 pandas.

For visitors, it is more like a nice park than a traditional zoo. The base is large and nice to walk around, since much of it is in a bamboo forest. There are also shops selling panda-related souvenirs, but the prices are usually higher than markets or shops outside the base.

Accessibility Information

While the main road is flat, the base is large, so it is better for visitors with mobility issues to ride the shuttle (往返) bus. Visitors who completely rely on wheelchairs may need help from others to guide. Most restrooms within the base are wheelchair accessible.
