2 . Where can you find a nice place to relax on holiday for both you and your children? Well, I suggest you try the beautiful and green Isle of Wight (IOW). The Isle of Wight is one of the main tourist attractions. Here is some information on a few of the attractions on the IOW.

It is located in Sandown, a seaside town on the southeast coast. It’s a large, lovely museum, both fun and educational. Here you can see a large fossil collection of all kinds of dinosaurs, as well as a gift shop. You can walk into the past and then the future, learning about the history and the development of the civilization of dinosaurs (恐龙) that lived 120 million years ago.

The park is in the beautiful countryside, and is suitable for children’s parties and games. It has five new gardens, and offers great opportunities to see and take pictures of the rare red squirrels.

Here we have the Marine Aquarium, the Archaeology Exhibition and the Model Railway. They offer another opportunity to combine entertainment (娱乐) with learning. This is a great place to see ancient boats crossing the narrow strait between the island and the mainland.

This museum is run completely by unpaid volunteers. It has a bus collection stored in what was once a warehouse (仓库). Most of the buses in the museum date back to around the 1910’s.

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Spruce Street Harbor Park, one of the best urban beaches in America, is an outdoor heaven on the Delaware River water front. Visitors can relax in a hammock, play on the playgrounds, and play games like table tennis and giant chess. Don’t miss out on the park at night when colorful LED lights hanging from tree tops make the entire area bright.

Blue Cross River Rink

Offering ice skating in the winter and roller skating in the summer, Blue Cross River Rink creates a fun, outdoor experience for the whole family. On summer days, uniformed and professional storytellers at 13 storytelling benches throughout Philadelphia’s Historic District entertain visitors with true, free, three-to-five minute   tales   about   the   colonial (殖民的) era as part of Once Upon a Nation. Children can pick up a Story Flag at any storytelling bench, and then collect a star from every storyteller on their journeys. Flags with all the stars can get free rides on the Parx Liberty Carousel at Franklin Square.

Choose a place where you feel comfortable and safe

Truth be told, traveling alone for the first time is more about the experience than the destination.     2     It could be somewhere close to home or somewhere you’ve already been with friends.

Make a plan

Always make a plan. That way you’ll avoid worrying too much over where you’re staying, what to see and how you’re getting from A to B.

Talk to people

Your family and friends love you and probably worry about you every day, so text them and let them know what you’re up to throughout your trip.     5     And in case something did happen, they’ll know where you are.

A few weeks ago, a friend and I, both travelling in the south of France,     1    (decide) to go to the chocolate festival     2     (call) “Feria du Chocolat” in French. I had     3    fantastic time.

There were stalls (货摊) selling boxes of chocolates, sweets, dessert wines, etc. All the stall owners were very friendly and happy to see the    4     (arrive) of foreigners like us. They explained their methods of    5     (make) chocolate, showed us photos of their factories, and, of course, let us try their products! My friend bought some chocolate cups,    6    I think are great novelties (新鲜事物)- you drink your drink, and then you can eat the chocolate cup !

We then went to a masterclass where we learnt how to make chocolate. I was a little    7    (worry) before the masterclass, as there were only 12 people in a class, and I wasn’t sure if my French would be good enough     8     (understand) everything! Luckily, everyone was     9    (extreme) friendly - the lady next    10    me was making notes of everything we did, so she explained when I didn’t understand. At the end, our class stayed in the room and chatted about how much we were enjoying the day and eating lots of chocolate!
