Once upon a time, a frog often jumped out of his pond(池塘)     1     (visit) his friend, a mouse, in a hole of a tree every morning, and     2     (return) home at noon.

The mouse was happy about that but didn’t know the frog was slowly     3     (turn) an enemy instead of a friend. One day, when it was time for the frog     4     (leave) the mouse, he tied one end of a string(绳子) to one of his own     5     (leg), and     6     other end to the mouse’s tail, and dived into the pond with the silly mouse behind.

The mouse tried to free himself     7     failed, and soon end up dying in the water.

When a hawk(鹰) saw the mouse’s body on the water, he went down and caught it,     8     (fly) up into a tree nearby. The frog was pulled out of the water too and eaten     9     (quick)

The story reminds   me of a famous saying: “Don’t dig so deep a pit(深坑)     10     your enemy, for you may fall into it yourself.”
