2 . We found him a few weeks ago, walking along the road in the countryside. He was jumping on cars, and we thought maybe his family was camping somewhere nearby, ________ we passed him by. When he saw us, he laid down in the middle of the road, so we were unable to ________ him.

We stopped the car and looked around for a few minutes, trying to find his owner. But we ________ . Then we took a good look at the dog. He had no collar (项圈) and he was really ________ . We decided he was abandoned.

3 . The first time ever I realized that plastic was a serious matter for our planet was during a road trip in Western Australia, almost 12 years ago.

We________at a supermarket along the Coral Bay coast to buy some groceries and the lady at the counter told us they didn’t sell any shopping bags in order to prevent plastic in the________and to help preserving the endangered turtles living in that area. 5 . A team of volunteers in the UK rescued a dog in a very unusual way, using a drone (无人机) and a sausage.

Millie, a lovely and pretty dog __________ while she was out for a walk in Hampshire, near the southern coast of England.

After she was seen running on busy roads, her __________, Emma Oakes, contacted the Denmead Drone Search and Rescue (DDSAR) for __________.

Millie was __________ found in a wetland by the coast, at risk of drowning as the tides filled different parts of the area with __________. Police officers, members of the coast guard and volunteers __________ to get to her on kayaks (橡皮艇) and on foot while the DDSAR __________ a drone to follow her. But they were all __________.

After three days of trying to rescue Millie, the team thought of __________ a sausage from a drone to try to help her get to __________. “It was a crazy idea,” said the DDSAR’s Chris Taylor, speaking to The Guardian. But they decided to try anyway. With the help of a local woman who gave them sausages and even __________ the sausages, the team hanged one in front of Millie, who __________ it to higher ground.
