On 27 December 2004, a tsunami caused by the     1     (power) earthquake in the past 40 years crashed     2    coastlines across Asia,     3     (cause) more than 6,500 deaths. The undersea quake     4     (strike) off the west coast of Indonesia’s Sumatra Island, killing at least 1,870 people in that area. In Sri Lanka, about 2,498 people were killed and one million more     5     (affect) by the tsunami. As many as 1,900 people died along the southern coast in India. Another 254 were found     6    (die) and many more were hurt     7    missing in Thailand. Thousands of people are still missing and the number of deaths is expected     8     (grow). The damage caused by the tsunami will make     9    difficult to deliver food and supplies to     10    (survive).
