4 . Mukbang (吃播) is about the eating shows in front of the screen. In the shows, mukbangers eat food and sometimes talk to their fans.
Mukbang started in South Korea in around 2010 and is becoming more and more popular in the world. Why did mukbang first appear in this country? The reason is that eating alone (独自) is quite common in South Korea. Watching mukbang can be a way to have someone to eat with, even though they are at home alone.
This is one of the reasons why many people around the world like watching mukbang. However, the way mukbangers eat food in some shows isn’t healthy. This can make people have bad habits and bring serious health problems. To have more fans and make more money, some mukbangers prepare a lot of food in front. But they throw away much food secretly during the show or throw up food after the show to make viewers believe they have eaten up everything. In fact, it is not because they feel sick (恶心). These mukbangers waste a lot of food.

5 . Smoking is a bad habit. It can cause serious health problems. My father used to be a heavy smoker. I was worried about his health very much, so I wanted him to give up smoking. I didn’t know what to do to help him. My uncle is a doctor and he gave me some suggestions.
Firstly, know the danger of smoking. I shared some harmful sides of smoking with my father. I told him how smoking could harm his health.
Secondly, be supportive (支持的). I let my father know that I was there for him and would help him give up smoking. I told him to take small steps to keep away from the bad habit.
Thirdly, give some choices. I asked my father to do something else when he wanted to smoke. For example, he could take a walk or have chewing gum (口香糖). I also told him that I would do these activities with him.
Finally, be patient (有耐心的). Giving up smoking is not easy and it needs time and a strong will. I tried to be patient with my father.
Luckily, my father was able to give up smoking in the end. It was a long way, but I was glad that my father made it.

Scientist at the University of East London and the University of Westminster did a study on 447 students. Only 111 of them took something to drink. Scientist then compared (比较) their exam results with their normal schoolwork grades. They found those who had brought drinks with them all got better grades by between 2 and 10 percent.
“We don’t know why drinking water can be helpful. But scientists said having enough water in our bodies may also cut down on nervousness (紧张不安). This kind of feeling would be bad for exam performances,” said Chris Pawson, PHD of the University of East London.
“Whatever the explanation (解释) is, it is clear that students should try hard to stay hydrated (含水的） during exams,” he added.
So next time, when you are going to have a big exam, try bringing a bottle of water with you. Who knows—it may help you pass the exam.

Day 1: Embark from Flores
