4 . Feeling stressed out and over-loaded? Try smiling. According to recent studies, smiling has the power to reduce stress and increase our ability to deal with hard situations.
Smiling tends to produce chemicals. When you smile, even when you force it, your body releases the “feel good” hormones and endorphins (安多芬),which will put you in a much better mood and relieve stress. Endorphins interact mainly with receptors (接收器) in cells found in regions of the brain responsible for blocking pain and controlling emotion.

5 . Derived from the words ‘glamorous’(迷人的) and ‘camping’, glamping is an outdoor escape that combines the closeness to nature associated with camping with the luxury and convenience of proper self-provided accommodation. Though associated with luxury, glamping varies greatly. Some locations may offer every item you could ever need, along with special features like hot tubs, saunas, and more, while other glamping options will be limited to far more fundamental accommodation.
Whatever the type of accommodation, glamping should have a genuine connection to the outdoors, and give guests the chance not only to enjoy comforts but also to run wild, climb trees, splash in rivers,star-gaze and have the sort of experiences that we associate with camping. Glamping has a massive appeal to almost every type of traveler. It gives you the chance to really immerse yourself in a location and step directly from your door into your surroundings.
During the October, 2020, online searches for “glamping” surged 400 percent year-on-year. Data from one popular lifestyle platform showed that glamping-related posts increased 271 percent year-on-year, while views of such posts surged 170 percent year-on-year. Between Jan.1 and May 31 this year, glamping searches were 428 percent higher than that in the same period of last year. With the popularity of glamping, “glamping gear” , “campsite recommendations” and “glamping photos” become hot topics on the website.
Lyu, working in one school of Tourism Sciences, said: “Currently, camping, especially new-type camping, which is luggage-free, is very popular among young consumers. The new-type, high-end glamping is expected to become an important, rising form of leisure activity in the suburbs.” Lyu said the popularity of glamping is partly because the pandemic has added to people’s preference for open spaces. Besides, young people, who are a major consumption group, are the main users of social media and content platforms.

6 . Starting your morning with a good cup of coffee can be a great way to get an energy boost. But besides helping you get over your sleepiness, it turns out it might also be boosting your brain, too. A study out of the Krembil Brain Institute has found that drinking your coffee a certain way can actually reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (阿尔茨海默氏症).
“Coffee consumption does seem to have some relation to a decreased risk of developing Alzheimer’s,” Donald Weaver, the study‘s co-author, said. “But we wanted to investigate which compounds (化合物) are involved and how they may affect age-related cognitive decline.”
The research was set out to investigate the connection between coffee consumption and a decreased risk of Alzheimer. The researchers decided to test the compounds found in different beans, including light roast, dark roast, and decaffeinated (无咖啡因的) coffee. The team discovered the beans contained phenylindanes, a chemical compound that prevents the buildup of proteins, known as beta-amyloid and tau, which are known to lead to Alzheimer’s. Since a longer roast leads to an increase in the amount of phenylindanes, the researchers concluded that dark roast coffee provided better protection against the Alzheimer’s.
The team also discovered levels of phenylindanes were as strong in dark roasted decaffeinated coffee as they were in a regular caffeinated dark roast. “The caffeinated and de-caffeinated dark roast both had identical function in our initial experimental tests,” Ross Mancini, one of the scientists, said in a statement. “So we observed early on that its protective effect could not be due to caffeine.”
“It’s the first time someone has investigated how phenylindanes interact with the proteins that are responsible for Alzheimer’s,” Mancini acknowledged that the findings show more research is needed. “The next step would be to investigate how beneficial these compounds are, and whether they have the ability to enter the bloodstream or cross the blood-brain barrier.”

7 . In August 2018, Yo-Yo Ma began a two-year journey to perform solo cello(大提琴) in 36 locations around the world. The project is motivated not only by his six-decade relationship with Bach’s music, but also by Bach’s ability to speak to our shared humanity at a time when our civil conversation is so often focused on culture division.
Bach’s 300-hundred-year-old music is one extraordinary example of how culture connects us and can help us to imagine and build a better future. For Ma, culture includes not just the arts, but everything that helps us to understand our environment, each other, and ourselves, from music and literature to science and food. The Bach Project explores and celebrates all the ways that culture makes us stronger as individuals, as communities, as a society, and as a planet.
“Bach’s music has been my constant musical companions. For almost six decades, they have given me support, comfort, and joy during times of stress, celebration, and loss. What power does this music possess that even today, after three hundred years? Does it continue to help us navigate through troubled times?” Ma said in a conference. He is more convinced than ever of the Bach’s music has the ability to create shared meaning that extends far beyond the here and now. “Over the years,” writes Ma, “I came to believe that, in creating these works, Bach played the part of a musician-scientist, expressing precise observations about nature and human nature.”
