This is a working vacation at a wildlife centre. Anyone can become a volunteer if he/she agrees to help the elephant keepers with tasks.
Daily tasks
Collect the elephants at 6:30 a.m. Take them to look for food in the forest. Clean the enclosure. Swim with the elephants in the lake in the afternoon. If volunteers want to relax after work, they can watch satellite television.
How this vacation helps
If these elephants hadn’t been rescued, they would still be living on the streets of Bangkok. A rural environment is much better for them than an urban environment where there is lots of pollution.

If you’re lucky, you’ll see lions, elephants and rhinos on safari. The highlight of the trip is the opportunity to see gorillas in the mountain forests. However, you must be in good health—if a gorilla caught a cold, it would be extremely harmful to its whole family.

There are only about 600 mountain gorillas left in the world as human activity has reduced the area where they can live. When you buy a permit, this will pay for the protection of the national park.
Polar Bear Watching

Every October and November, groups of polar bears gather in Hudson Bay. As they are normally lonely creatures, this is unusual. The bears wait for the ocean to freeze so they can hunt seals, so this is the perfect opportunity to see them.

As with many daytime talk shows, tickets to see the taping of The Steve Harvey Show are free. They’re given away in order to fill the audience with fans. The catch is that the show often gives away more tickets than seats since usually some people won’t show up on the taping dates.
There is good news and bad news. The good is that even if you don’t get tickets, you might be able to get standby tickets (候补票)．The bad is that even if you do have tickets, you’re not guaranteed a seat. Be sure to show up early and your chances will improve.

3 . Volunteer Marine (海洋的) Protection Program in Bali
Tianyar is a small fishing village in the northern part of Bali. Tianyar’s coral reef (珊瑚礁), which was highly bio-diverse and healthy, is currently in poor condition due to many years of improper fishing practices. After several visits from scientists, a project aimed at restoring and protecting Tianyar’s coral reef was started.
Volunteers
Volunteers should be at least 17 years old. A keen interest in marine life and protection is desirable. They should be physically fit and able to swim. A parental approval form shall be required for participants under 18 joining the program.
Responsibilities
Volunteers will help to construct artificial reef structures and organize beach and reef cleaning. Work Schedule
As a volunteer for the program, your general schedule would be:
| Sunday | On arrival, volunteers will be picked up from the airport and then transferred to Tianyar by car. |
| Monday morning | Detailed training shall be done, after which volunteers begin their project placement. |
| Monday to Thursday | This period will be the working days. Evenings will be free for you to relax or walk around Tianyar or make plans for the next day’s work. |
| Friday to Sunday | During your extended weekend, you can travel and explore other parts of Bali such as Ubud, Seminyak or Kuta. Modes of transport are easily available for travelling within the island. |
Accommodation
In Tianyar, accommodation will be provided in a guesthouse on the basis of same-gender sharing. Each room has a small kitchen with a refrigerator and stove. Tianyar accommodation is located in the main Tianyar town and all amenities (生活设施) are available within walking distance.

Victorian Schoolroom
The session takes place in a grand reconstruction of a schoolroom in a late nineteenth century board school. The children will experience a wide range of Victorian style lessons and use slate boards and dip pens. The session leader will play the role of a Victorian teacher but will come out of the role during the session to comfort the children. We provide costume for all children.
Victorian Toys
Our Victorian nanny delivers this interesting session. The nanny will help children to explore the differences between rich and poor children’s toys from the past. During the session the children have the opportunity to make a toy to take home.
Victorian Christmas
In a specially decorated room the children will find out how the Victorians introduced many of our Christmas customs. They will make a simple card or present to take home.

Overview: As a Park Host you are a part of a team that includes Volunteers, Service Contractors, and Park Rangers, Management, and Administration. Park Hosts are long-term (6 + months) volunteers who make extended (延长的) stays at campgrounds as a part of the project team.
Responsibilities: Open and close the gates to the park, provide customer service to park guests, helping in the cleaning / keeping park facilities in good condition. Work at least 20 hours every week and live in a natural outdoor setting, with your own RV. Complete rounds through the park and provide on-site reports to the Gatehouse or Park Rangers.
