1 . I first discovered Café Gratitude several months ago. My friend Heather invited me to ___ her for lunch. Heather had just moved to Los Angeles, and we would discuss the project we were doing. As we sat down and were ___ the delicious vegetarian menu, the server who came to take our order asked us the question of the day. What are you grateful for? ‘Is this your thimble?’ the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, ‘Yes.’ The Lord was pleased with the woman’s ____ and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home, much ___ .

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the ___ , and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. ____ she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked her, ‘Why are you crying?’ ‘Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!’

The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney. ‘Is this your husband?’ the Lord asked.

‘Yes,’ cried the seamstress. The Lord was ___. ‘You lied! That is a(n) ___ !’ The seamstress replied, ‘Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a ___. You see, if I had said ‘no’ to George Clooney, you would have come up with Brad Pitt. Then if I said ‘no’ to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said ‘yes,’ you would have given me ____. Lord, I’m not in the best of health and ____ be able to take care of all three husbands, ___ THAT’S why I said ‘yes’ to George Clooney.’

3 . They tell the story of a mountain climber who, desperate to conquer the Aconcagua, started his climb after years of preparation. But he wanted the _________ all to himself, therefore, he went up _________.

Autumn is a time when nature prepares to test and it is just the same with many people.With less energy or strength they have no desire to meet with friends after work，preferring to sit still in front of the television before going to bed early.And the next morning they find it hard to get up, too.

For most people, this period of time passes without any major effects, but a small minority suffer from complete winter depression(压抑)．Apart from tiredness and without energy, the latter often has the following symptoms(症状)．

Lack of light during the cold months is the cause of people's depression.

To reduce the bad effect of the winter depression, sufferers should spend as much time outdoors as possible.Exercise is also a tested cure for depression.A regular sleep wake cycle can help too, and sufferers should stick to it even at weekends.By getting up early, they can receive more daylight regardless of the weather.
