A few weeks ago, all the students were talking about the coming trip at the winter camp. For me, it was     1     piece of terrible news. I was not good at winter sports, and everyone would laugh at me. I told my mother my worry. “You might be     2     (surprise), Alice,” said Mom. “The only way to find out the truth is to try     3     (brave).”

After arriving at the camp, we     4    (ask) to skate down to the field. I skated carefully, but I still fell down. Somebody started laughing at me loudly. Just when I didn’t know     5     to do, I noticed a girl in the same situation as me. Although she had fallen down many times, she didn’t give up     6     (try). Encouraged by her spirit, I felt I was braver     7     ever. The next day, I     8    (choose) to try skating first. And I succeeded in doing it at the     9    (five) time.

Actually it’s normal for us to worry about failure when we try something new. However, we should be confident and brave even though sometimes we have to fall on the road to     10     (succeed).
